Hello Everyone,
Tests look comparable to last night, things are looking good. One thing that has changed since we have switched him over to a partial wet diet is that Dillan is starting to eat plants in the house. Is this because he is wanting the plant protein that was in the dry food? I know it sounds like a dumb question but he wasn't doing it before and now he is doing it all of the time or trying to anyways. When thursday comes, I think I will move him up to the next step of the Wet to Dry Diet change 1/2 can of wet food and the rest of the calories from dry food for it equates to approximately 175 calories. I'm doing it Thursday for I can do the testing required during the weekend.

I suppose it's possible - a change of food could alter some behaviour.
I would use some caution on the plant eating, unless u know for certain all the plants he has access to are pet friendly...still, u don't wanna risk the chance of an upset tummy, cause when they dont feel good, they may not eat, which sometimes = bit extra testing.
Nice yellow tonight thou for Dillan

That blue last night sure is pretty on your SS.

Now about the plants... now I don't know your kitty, but mine loves to eat green plants, flowers and leaves. I have to be careful that I have only safe plants in the house and I only have two plants anyway. But sometimes when I get fresh flowers he will somehow to my astonishment levitate to great heights just to get a petal or fresh leaf, which he then promptly pukes up. Sometimes I think he does it to get a hairball out and the green stuff helps him. Or it may be a coincidence.

I don't think chewing on green leaves is unusual for kitties, just make sure you have only safe plants. BigMac now ignores the plants I've had a long time, but anything new... yummy! ....sigh... I just don't like the pukies.

Thanks yeah I'm enjoying the numbers, they make me feel a little uneasy but thats just because they are lower then I'm use to.
I'm surprised that they have came down so fast especially with only a small diet change and it moved 100 points. It almost would make me think **hopeful thinking** that once he transitions to all wet food that he will be down in the green.

That blue really is very pretty.

There were any number of people who have posted on Health about how the switch to a LC, canned diet had a significant effect on BG numbers. It's why we really push for making the transition. It is going to be very important as you are making that transition to get pre-shot tests. I hope some of the obstacles are getting resolved.

Yeah, I'm working with the girlfriend to explain to her the importance of the tests and also encouraging her as she is trying. Hopefully she will be able to start doing it for sure next week since we are dropping the amount of dry food again on Thursday. I'm doing it on that day because I will be able to do lots of testing over the weekend, for we can for sure see how Dillan's body is utilizing the insulin. Thanks again for the support everyone.
