Yesterday
Good morning and Happy Friday! Shadow is well into his yellows here. It dawned on me that today is the Full Snow Moon fll_moon so I will blame the numbers on the moon. At least there is that today so I will use it!!
He is fine otherwise with his happy nature bringing so much joy into my day. :-D Purring his head off all morning as he follows me and jumping onto the testing towel for his test and then the shot later. what a wonderful patient he is.

OT: My doctor said it could take up to a month before i would feel any results from the methimazole. I guess it varies with some feeling better within a short time. The circulating thyroid hormone has to be reduced so I guess it is all relative to how much is in your body. the med stifles the production, but the existing hormone has to be eliminated as far as I understand it.
Thank you all for your loving thoughts yesterday for my DSIL. They will be back at the hospital again all day today....this is just so amazing that she is breathing on her own now. The prognosis is not good, so it is just a matter of time BUT, she is getting to spend more time with her family around her. Her will to live is obviously very, very strong.

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297

Good morning, Pat! Big hugs for you today! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Shadow certainly is a good patient, and it makes me happy to read how he brings joy to your day. It really seems like you could use some joy right now. That is amazing about your DSIL breathing on her own. I believe you are right, she wants to do this on her own terms without a tube in her throat. I can't say I blame her. I hope she is more comfortable now and my thoughts are with you and your family.

I hope your meds kick in soon! The wait can be awful, I know. I hope the medicine does what it's supposed to and you're feeling better soon. It makes sense, how you have to wait for the circulating hormone to dissipate. Think of it like the cat's insulin sheds!

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297

Shadow has often been a moon kitty so I'm with ya' on ignoring the yellow for the moment.
His numbers were so beautiful yesterday that I bet they will come back when the moon and
tides return to normal. :-D

I agree with Violet... I thought the same thing about "draining your shed" when I read
that the circulating thyroid hormone in your body needs to be reduced.

I've heard of people that look like their pets, but do we have to turn into our kitties too?
Sometimes it is the reverse and kitties act more human. Look at Maverick... he drives. Not very well though. Hahahaha!!

Karrie and Maverick said:
(snip...) We have a visit with the new vet this morning. Maverick doesn't drive well.

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297

Hi Pat.....What a nice day for Shadow yesterday! I haven't been around much (I do scan the list to see who has what for AMPS etc.) lot's going on, was interviewing again for a new job (same one different hostpital) and we actually had a little "nice" weather so I was able to get out a bit. Sorry to hear about your DSIL, and I hope you start getting some action from your meds soon, lots of medications take time to bring results and sometimes it takes some fine tuning with dosage etc. It usually starts to work just as your ready to throw in the towel.

Oh boy a full moon......that should be lovely with the northern lights we have been able to see the past few nights (due to the big sun storms) :-D

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297

Hey Pat, For sure it's the moon! Rusty is already at camp, waiting for the kitty bus to arrive. Get your two on the bus with their extra coats and boots. Florida kitties need more fur!!

I thought "shed" too, when I read your post. That's the way we think!!!!!

Continuing to send good thoughts to your DH and his sister and the family.

Hugs to you all,

Ella

What a drop for the boy....THAT's what one can expect with the fll_moon (Pssst....I just hope he doesn't go too crazy with this dropping.....not until the moon phase passes)
You guys!!! This is just what I needed...to come here and read about your thoughts about my shed draining. LOLOLOL
One track minds! That's what you have! ALL of you!!!

OT...a very sad note, DSIL passed at 11:20 this morning with her family surrounding her, peacefully after a few very deep breaths.
After the beautiufl day they all shared yesterday, the end has come and she is finally a peace and free from the cares of this earth plane....
Hugs to you all....with love :YMHUG:

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297~+4=153

So sorry about your DSiL Pat. I am glad she got the extra time with family and was able to go on her own terms. I'm sorry you weren't able to be there as well, to say your goodbyes and enjoy the extra time. I'm hoping the meds kick in soon for you and you start to feel better. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts today. (((Pat)))

Oh, and Shadow - good job on the +4!

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297~+4=153

Nice +4 number for Shadow. He really came on down... he cut that AMPS by almost half!

I'm sorry about your DSIL. How lovely that her family was able to be near her and that her breathing tube
was not interfering. A peaceful goodbye is about the best we all can hope for when it is time. :YMHUG:
Sometimes that thought is a comfort. I hope it is true for your family.

Re: 2/18 Shadow AMPS=297~+4=153

Pat, I'm so sorry to hear about your DSIL. I'm glad she was able to be surrounded by her family and breathing on her own when she passed. I hope that you will find comfort and strength from your friends and family and that you will know the love you had for your DSIL will live on through all the good memories you have of her. I also hope you start feeling better and better with each new day.

These yellows are a disappointment. Blame it on the moon. I was glad to see that lone green today though.
Tomorrow is another day!

But the yellow is so sunny! I did like the green mid day. we can blame the numbers all on the moon. sounds like a plan! :-D

I hope so start to feel better soon Pat. work meds work!

I am sorry to read about the passing of your DSIL. She will be at peace now.

Pat, Thoughts of comfort to you and your DH and his family on the passing of his sister. I am very glad that she passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

In deep sympathy,
Ella
