(((Ele))) so glad you got Blackie in today and your vet had some good thoughts. I hesitated on whether to share this experience we had with you but after I read your post, I decided it would be ok. Many years ago one of our cats, Nik, had liver cancer (he had a vaccination site sarcoma which metastasized into liver cancer). We did not know there was anything wrong with him...he was doing wonderful but a routine blood test showed elevated liver enzymes. Our vet said we should biopsy his liver. As with many cancer surgeries, his immune system became very compromised and he went from a cat that was eating and seemed healthy to a cat that we had to tube feed. I know the surgery revealed to us that he had liver cancer, but Mike and I both think that we'd been better off to have not known as he would have probably had many, many more months of good QOL....I think the surgery just made it too difficult for him to recuperate. Yes...the outcome would have been the same but I do believe a noninvasive treatment would have allowed him to have a better QOL longer. I hope the antibiotics help and that it is just an infection. Sending so many prayers and healing vines.
