Ele, you and Blackie are in my thoughts. Glad you have a good vet who helps you consider your options. Am wishing you and Blackie lots of moments that you can enjoy together.

more white light and prayers being sent your way for Blackie

(((Ele))) so glad you got Blackie in today and your vet had some good thoughts. I hesitated on whether to share this experience we had with you but after I read your post, I decided it would be ok. Many years ago one of our cats, Nik, had liver cancer (he had a vaccination site sarcoma which metastasized into liver cancer). We did not know there was anything wrong with him...he was doing wonderful but a routine blood test showed elevated liver enzymes. Our vet said we should biopsy his liver. As with many cancer surgeries, his immune system became very compromised and he went from a cat that was eating and seemed healthy to a cat that we had to tube feed. I know the surgery revealed to us that he had liver cancer, but Mike and I both think that we'd been better off to have not known as he would have probably had many, many more months of good QOL....I think the surgery just made it too difficult for him to recuperate. Yes...the outcome would have been the same but I do believe a noninvasive treatment would have allowed him to have a better QOL longer. I hope the antibiotics help and that it is just an infection. Sending so many prayers and healing vines.

Ooohhh (((((Ele and Blackie))))),

I'm so sorry Blackie had such a bad day. I'm hoping the medications will help him feel better. I marvel at Marjorie's advise, I have been struggling with decisions regarding Whiskers care as well. We have been considering surgery, but have to way it against QOL. I'm sure the decisions you make for Blackie will be the best, and he will feel it, and love you for it. I thank you for keeping us in your prayers with all you have going on as well. We continue to keep you guys in our prayers also. much love.

Ele and Blackie I just wanted to let you know that you are both very much in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that the antibiotics work for you.

hoping blackie's feeling better now

if you suspect liver issues i do recommend denamarin. cleo's ALT level was climbing quite high and i felt the fluids and denamarin helped her recover well. i always cut the pill into halves or fourths and put in pill pockets. according to the manufacturer it could cut down effectiveness by up to 20% (coz of exposure to heat/light) but if you give it right after cutting it the effectiveness rate should stay high.
hoping you have a lot of quality time with blackie.
did you guys do a culture and sensitivity test on the urine just in case you're talking a bladder infection? that can really wipe them out, too, tho the zeniquin usually is recommended for that anyway.
between the mirtz and the cerenia you have a lot of help with nausea, which is good.
