Good evening,

I am sorry it took me so long to write an update. Binies situation is still very tiring. She is on her last week of antibiotics and we are fighting with ongoing stomach problems which mad her eat not so well on some days. I give Cerenia and Omeprazol for that.

Besides she opened an area under her arm again and licked a bigger part of her breast and belly. She is not very active and stopped going out completely. Sometimes I can't believe that last year February she was still an active outdoor cat which roamed through the neighborhood. We are still sleeping on a matress in the living room because I am scared she might hide under the bed on some days.

Her bg does not make me happy. It's overall too high and after some blue numbers last night we had a whole day in pink and as it seems also a night in pink. I will increase tomorrow.

Besides all these not so good news I feel that on most days she is more or less comfortable. On the better days she enjoys her food and snacks and purrs if the home-spa opens up. I started to brush the areas where the libre was (still flaking) with a very soft toothbrush and she loves it. Sometimes I am just holding the brush and she rubs her head against it and shows me where she likes to be brushed. I hope she becomes more active again as soon as I stop the antibiotics.

I hope you have a relaxed weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hello Heike! I was looking at Binie's ss this week and saw her blue day, that was nice.
I am sad to read that she is not doing so good these days. Maybe she just wants to stay warm inside as she is getting older? (I can relate to that :)).
How much longer is the antibiotic course?

Heike, it is so good to hear from you! I hope I didn't make you feel like you had to give an update... I am really sorry you are battling these infections and skin issues. Binie has the absolute best caregiver. You are also doing amazing with the manual pokes! When I am older, I hope someone treats me to a spa day like you do with Binie :p. Take care of yourself too and hang in there!

Hi Heike. I've been thinking of you and Binie. I am sorry she is still not feeling so well. You are doing a great job caring for her. Hopefully, after the antibiotics she will become more active. I love that she is enjoying the brushes and will be having a spa day :joyful: Sending lots of hugs and healing vibes! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Thank you so much Cecile! :bighug::bighug::bighug: She will get the antibiotics for four more days. It was a three week course. And I don't know if we are finished then, because she had three bacteria in her bladder and only two have been sensitive on the antibiotic. So sooner or later she might become problems with the third bacteria and we start all over again with another antibiotic. :banghead:

I hope really hope she stays inside because of being a granny and not liking the cold. But last year she still insisted on going out daily. It is quite unusual for her. But I will see how she does after the antibiotics.

I hope you are well Cécile. In this whole process I have to think about you and sweet Bella quite often. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Seth! :bighug::bighug::bighug: I am grateful you reached out. This never ending situation of new problems for Binie sometimes makes me a bit gloomy and I find it harder to communicate. But if I do, it makes things easier. I hope we all have lots of spa days in old age. :p:p:p

Thank you so much Madeline! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Yes, I also hope she gets better without antibiotics. But she is already better than in the beginning of the course and we just have a few more days to go hopefully. I hope you and Butch have a relaxed Sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I can 100% relate. Having to deal with multiple issues like you do is so draining. Please take care of yourself and your mental health as well. You are doing all you can and giving Binie the absolute best care. :bighug::bighug:
