Well, that's more what I recognize as a bounce. I hate that he shot ALL the way back up to the red, though. πŸ˜– I thought maybe we weren't doing that anymore.

Gen's vet appointment is in about four hours. Since pilling is something I can do now, I'm going to try giving him some extra gabapentin to help him relax. I'm really glad we're finally doing the abdominal ultrasound/internal med consult ... his poop has been stinky, soft, and in little bits for much of the week (and there was actual diarrhea once), and this morning there was scooting/streaking on the floor. His appetite has remained very good, and he's been acting normal; he's definitely happy to have me home this morning for sitting on. But we need to sort out what his guts are doing!

Happy Friday, friend! Wishing your kitties all a safe surf.

Guess Gen wanted to be πŸ‘¨β€πŸš€ today 🫣 Come down from outer space!
Maybe it's my fault for staring a historical fiction audiobook about an astronaut ...

He's coming down now, rather quickly, which is a little concerning in another direction since we'll be leaving the house in about an hour. Well. It's always an adventure.

With Indy's IBD he has the stinkiest poops! And, to top it off, he is the one cat that doesn't bury anything. Stinker.

Hope today's appt goes well!
Yeah, Gen's always been bad about burying too, or at least for years now. I'm in the habit of taking care of everything as soon as I know about it at this point.

I'm really glad we have the appointment today. He's having a lot of trouble getting stuff out right now - he was crying from the litterbox a little while ago, straining, and then there was nothing. ☹️

I hope the vet visit went well today Allie. Hope you get some answers on his IBD and how to treat it to help him feel better β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

I hope you both can relax tonight and get some rest after a vet visit πŸ’“πŸ«ΆπŸ’“πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ’•

The visit seemed to go quite well, but the place was packed when I went back to pick Gen up, and the vet didn't have time to talk to me directly. The tech passed on a message, saying that they didn't see anything scary in the ultrasound, and to expect more detailed results on Tuesday.

Also, apparently he pooped while he was there, a whole bunch. Maybe the higher dose of gabapentin helped relax him and that was a help? I don't know. His BG didn't spike, so he didn't seem to be super stressed, though he's happy to be home and out of his carrier!

Also: this is the vet's office cat, Chongus. He is a sweetheart. He spent the whole time I was doing Gen's pre-ultrasound paperwork today up on the counter carefully sniff-inspecting my entire upper body, which was oddly adorable.

He looks like a Chongus!
Glad to hear the preliminary report was positive; hope the full details will be as well.
Any idea about when he might get rescheduled for his dental?
