As you all know the vet I took Panzer to for his pancreatitis flare was refusing to give me more Cerenia for him, kept saying bring him in for an exam or take him to the emergency vet. I called & left them a voicemail at 4am pretty much telling them that they were cruel & incompetent & to send Panzer & Spooks records to another vet that I was going to take him to & I would be reporting them. I didn't have any proof that they were denying him meds. My daughter called them today about one of her cats & they said they deleted all 3 of her animals records & didn't email them to her or me! I Googled it & it's against the law, my daughter gave me permission to call them tomorrow & ask them for the records. If they can't provide them by 6pm Mon evening I will be calling my states veterinary medical board & reporting them. They messed with the wrong cat momma/ Grandma!!!
On to Panzer, I found 4 Zeniquin pills that were expired in my cat medicine cabinet so I gave them to him. He was eating good so I slowly weened him first off of the Miritazapine then the ondanstran which is all I had because they wouldn't give me more Cerenia. I had him on 3 ondanstran in a 24hr period I weened him down to 2 then 1 then none. He was eating & doing well so I was cleaning a house out by my old vet, my good vet so when I was done working & I went in there & I apologized to the girl up front & asked her if they would take Panzer & Spook back after I got there purevax rabies vaccine & she said yes absolutely. I took both of them to the Saturday clinic the next day. Panzer of course was on 100mg of gabapentin,but I told them they would probably have to take the top of the carrier off to give him the shot & they did said he did fine but he probably needs 200mg of gabapentin next time (no way) gabapentin not only makes Panzer unable to walk straight but he has trouble pooping & peeing for 3-4hrs after giving it to him. I thought maybe it was from the vaccine but he went to the vet on Tuesday & the same thing happened!!!
I sent Panzer & Spooks proof of rabies vaccine to our good vet on Monday & set him up an appointment with doctor Doug on Tuesday specifically because he has always been able to give Panzer a full exam! I gave the Gabapentin 100mg the capsule fits in 2 pill pockets put together I figured that out so I didn't have to make him swallow it. We get there & the vet techs come in & take down all of the info about his appointment at the other place, about them refusing to give me more Cerenia for him & about the Vèraflox for the UTI & how it caused diarrhea, trouble peeing & throwing up blood one time. I had brought in a clean catch of Panzers urine to see if he still had a UTI. Doctor Doug came in & listened to his heart & was feeling his stomach & bladder to see if he was in pain. We talked about his blood work & how it was similar to the blood work done by them in November. I told him what he was doing when he was eating & asked him to check his teeth. He got a tounge depressor & was looking at his 2 teeth & his gums & I could see them to & they looked really good no infection the teeth were clean & strong so he said he's just being a cat LOL he checked to see if he had a tempature & he didn't. He wanted to see his spreadsheet so I showed it to him, he didn't like him being under 80 & told me when he's that low give him 1.5 instead of 2.5 then go back up to 2.5 if his numbers go up I just agreed with him but of course I know better. He told the girls to go get the covenia shot I said oh no Panzer & Spook don't get covenia it's in there charts. He said well why not I give it to all of my patients it's a 10 day injectable antibiotic. I said we've discussed this before he doesn't get covenia it has killed cats I said I can pull it up for you & show you if you want & he no it's okay. I said Panzer is very easy to pill so he left the room & came back in & was talking about giving him clavamox if it came back that he had a UTI I said that's fine we can try it. The tech came in & said we've got 2 boxes of Cerenia for you do you want some miritaz cream too, I said how much does it cost she said let me check I checked on chewy real quick, she said it's $65 I said it's $45 through chewy can we go that route she said absolutely! I love them I didn't even ask for any of the stuff that I need for another pancreatitis flare up they just set me up with it. I got a call the next day saying great news no bacteria found Panzer doesn't have a UTI!!!
I really pushed D Mannose on Panzer during &:after I gave him the Zeniquin & miraculously he is UTI free. I am so happy & blessed to have our vet back. I did ask about buprenorphine & it was a no he said his go to pain medication is onisor & I'm pretty sure that one is a no no??
Panzer is still struggling with constipation. I'm trying to get the right combo of Mirilax & Slippery elm & giving him his probiotic & other meds. I'm still giving as much D Mannose as possible. He trys to poop & either a little tiny bit comes out or nothing. He tried & tried this morning & ended up hiding under the couch growling so I waited to leave for work. He came out got in the litter box & finally had a good normal bowel movement. I'm stalking him as much as possible to make sure he's going & praying everytime he gets in that box. He finally had a green number today it's been awhile since he's had one!!! Hoping he's coming out of the constipation & staying well. Of course he's a brat & had to have fortiflora but I ignore him as long as possible & I've even faked him out a couple of times & pretended to sprinkle it on his food LOL they are eating out of there extra wide ceramic elevated raised bowls for every meal now. Spook does great but Panzer is just being a CAT wanting that kitty crack!!!
I'm glad I got to give a mostly good update on my baby & I'm going to do my best to make sure that other place that refused Panzer meds & deleted my daughter's animals records gets some kind of punishment!!!

my cat dog toddler can't leave nothing laying out
I gave him Mirilax @+6 PMPS feeding & he ate all of it sitting all the way down & he pooped a good amount shortly after. I've been giving it to him every night @+6PMPS feeding & slippery elm every other night @+4 PMPS. I'm not sure what else to do??? I found a couple of supplements that my vets pharmacy offers but I haven't had a chance to Google them to see what the ingredients are in them. I will look into it tomorrow after work.
