great job getting a before bed test. because dosing of lantus is based off of the nadir, it's important to see how low a dose is taking a cat. what's your day schedule like? if you had the ability to get even one more test in sometime during the day, in addition to the ones you are already getting, it would really fill out the picture on what's going on in his body. doesn't have to be the same time every day - could be any time during the cycle, but one more would really help.
i think of a spreadsheet like a jigsaw puzzle. you don't have to have every piece to figure out what the picture is, but if you only have the edge pieces it is pretty difficult to make out what you're seeing.
