I hope I didn't put out TMI, Desi. But people here know how much you cherish Tawny, and I can't think of a one of us who wouldn't be sitting in our vehicle in the parking lot sobbing. I likely would still be there.
No worries here Venita, what you posted was fine. I do cherish Tawny, and I know everyone here understands that firsthand and also hurts right along with me ~ Desi
I talked to Dr. Amanda Traub about a 1/2 hr ago (5pm my time), here's the latest update on Tawny:
Jugular catheter is in, glucose of course is high as are ketones, liver enzymes are elevated, on insulin CRI, on fluids, potassium is low, they are starting her on a low dose of steriods, she is getting electrolytes, she has not vomited again (last time then would be 8 hrs ago at home), she is getting anti nausea med anzanel (sp?) and pepcid.
They are planning to put the etube in tomorrow. She is still very quiet but no worse.
OT (sort of)/FYI: Earlier I went to LVRC's FB page to ck on any Tawny updates there and thought some of you might want to see this info on chicken jerky treats from China that may be causing "symptoms of decreased appetite, decreased activity, vomiting, diarrhea (with or without blood), increased water consumption and/or urination...seek veterinarian guidance. There have been reports that chicken jerky treats from China may be causing kidney failure or Fanconi syndrome in animals who have consumed these products..."

They also posted the FDA link:

Tawny had been getting Halo Liv-a-Littles Natural Treats for Dogs and Cats, Freeze-Dried Chicken Breast Protein so I called LVRC and they said those are no problem, that it is ONLY the jerky treats.
