Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (peppermint white mochas for everyone!), and Happy Fursday!

I would like to thank everyone that visited Mannie's condo yesterday, and for all your well wishes for BlackJack, aka BJ. I've read them all over a hundred times, and am grateful for you all. BJ is home now, resting comfortably. The eTube feeding is going well, with no issues so far. Now if I can just get her to sit still during the feedings! sheshhhh... I am still waiting on the histology reports, and some labs. I hope that we are indeed just dealing with Pancreatitis, and that she responds to the game plan. Time will tell.... Thank you all again for you support!

WOW on yesterday... I sure missed having BJ lead the kitty choir yesterday morning, but did I ever wake up quick with that 71 at amps. I retested... Come to find out last night Mannie apparently was all over DH around 1AM, following him everywhere while he got ready for bed - a sure sign he needs food. I wish he had woken me so I could have tested him: Hmmmmmm.... I wonder how low was Mannie? He sure did have a great AM cycle. I fed the bulk of it with an 8%, just to keep him in the 70/80 range, DGS was here, he wasn't feeling all that great due to his vaccinations, and well - it was just safer. It will be interesting to see if we can avoid a bounce by keeping him out of the 60's... he always bounces when we go "too low": 40/50/60. He handles the 80's much better... we shall see - though with that 316 this morning, not too sure. All in all a wonderful day for Mannie. Good job big guy - lubs ya! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D I do miss the kitty choir - without the lead singer, they have severely neglected their duties! I didn't realize how much I really depended upon BJ getting them all fired up and making sure this bean was awake.  Mannie was back to protecting the Christmas tree today... he hasn't left it, except for a few short visits to check on the nanner piles. It seems so funny to think that now there are two piles .   I wonder how long it will be before he moves them. Elsa decided today she would play with one of the rainbows. GO ELSA! of course she waited until he was occupied elsewhere before attempting such a daring feat.     We had a great test feed shoot this morning: lots of purrs and head rubs from the Nanner King, still kneading too! I think I need to trim his claws... Breffis was consumed with gusto - still at warp speed, clean plate club status maintained, the auto feeder continues to be used (YES!!), and well yes, once again Elsa did raid his auto feeder... What else is new there.   Normalcy in MannieLand: well almost, BJ is home, we are working on getting her better.

Have a great day everyone! I am back on DGS duty today trough Friday - YAY! I have missed the little guy. I hope to get him out to a river maybe, or even just a beach. I hope he feels better today - yesterday he was under the influence of several vaccinations, and just didn't feel well at all. The weather is so iffy this week, we will no doubt be dodging the rains... I know I will not be able to get to condos until very late in the evening, SO So sorry! Do know that I am thinking of you all, and your furkids. Think BLUE, think GREEN kitties!

FRIENDS!!!! You guys are the bestest ever! BJ is so happy that everyone came, the KTSS came, and helped her feel better. She LOVED Tobey's massages and all the good soups. She was so glad that you guys took the trouble to puree them all up so they would work in that tube thing she has. she said though that she slurped some too and that was so much better than that silly tube thingie.... She says she feels much better, and hopes to be all better soon. PHEW! I sure could use a chillaxin' day today - you guys in? maybe some snow stuff at Zener's or Rusty's too. See you guys! ~~ Mannie

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316

Good morning! I have missed out on BJ being sick and I am so sorry. Poor kitty. It is great to hear that she is home where she is most comfortable. I hope the tube feedings go well and she continues to get better and better. All the healing vines I can find are coming your way. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Have a great day with DGS! Can't wait for the pictures what ever it is you decide to do.

Hey Mannie! Sorry about your sister. I hope she feels better soon. Snow sounds really fun. Somebody has to have some. It is 65 here so not us. See ya soon! - Tarragon

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316

Hi Michelle,
We are very glad that BJ is home and that the tube feeding is going well. Keep us posted on the lab reports. It sounds like she is feeling pretty good and very happy to be home. It's excellent that you can do the tube feeding so well right from the outset!

After Mannie's greens yesterday, it looks like he is "compensating"! Just as well that you don't have to worry about him with your hands full with BJ and Nicholas. I sure hope Nicholas will be feeling better today. Those vaccinations aren't fun! If the weather cooperates you can take him on a nice river walk.

I'll check back with you later.

Ella

Hey Mannie, I'll be over to your place again to chillax and plan for the party and to look in on BJ. Let's make her some more pureed chicken soup. See ya later,
Rusty

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316

I hope BJ feels better and the dx is manageable. It throws off everything when one of ours is under the weather.

Mannie, come down a bit. Green yesterday doesn't have to mean pink today you know.

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316

Hi Michelle, so glad to hear BJ is feeling better. I am so sorry yesterday I kept saying "Elsa" when I meant BJ. I do need to start getting more sleepus. What is up with Elsa and Mannie's rainbows? I do hope Mannie gives you permission to get out for some fun time with Nicholas, and hope the little guy is feeling better. Sending healing vines for BJ. Cute, as I didn't know the long name "BlackJack."

Mannie, I am so sorry about your lil sis. We have got to help her get all better. We will be over again to bring some soup and check on her, k, and then see what we will do. See ya soon, Maggie

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316, +2 306

'Morning Michelle and Gang
I'm happy to hear that BJ is feeling better, and that the e-tube feeding is easier than you thought it would be.
Now if the squirmy one, would just sit still and enjoy the cuddle time with mama, that would make it so much easier.
I'm assuming DGS is feeling better after the shots, and you get to the river today. It's in the low teens here.Oy!

Checkers was gonna make some chicken and broth for BJ, but we think Ann & Maggie are beating us to it. :-D

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316, +2 306

Good morning, Michelle. Great report on BJ, even if she is a little squirmy. That's a good sign! Hope Mannie comes down some more and it's a just a little short bounce.
Liz

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316, +2 306, +4 252

I'm so glad BJ got to come home yesterday, and happy the tube feedings are going well. That's gotta be a relief. Sending more vines her way today, and hoping she's feeling better soon. Are labs due back today? I know Mannie lubs DGS, but how do BJ and Elsa feel about him? Interesting on Mannie following DH around last night, wonder how low he went. At least he's already back to yellow, and you are free to entertain Nicholas and care for BJ. Have a great day.

Re: 12/29 Mannie AMPS 316, +2 306, +4 252

This is the one forum I feel comfortable sharing this...

I had a dream last night about your furbabies...
Manny was quietly messing about with his nanners, and a kitty that I knew was BJ was lying comfortably
on a fleece bed, surrounded by a warm, honey-colored glowing light.
And (as you do in dreams) I knew that the glow was the healing energy of LL prayers.
You know how deeply I believe...so sending more healing energy your way!

And a very happy Thursday to you, Mama Michelle...

we'll be watching for more BJ reports - hope she feels better as she gets more food into her!

and i'm very glad that CPC status was maintained! *whew* ;-)

Re: 12/29 Mannie PMPS 171

PMPS - 171. YAY! back to the blues - well done Mannie!

Thanks to everyone that visited Mannie today while I cared for DGS. We had a great day today - even managed to make it to a river park. Nicholas enjoyed it, as he always does when there is water to be had. Once again he made a bee-line to the rivers edge, would have gone swimming if I hadn't had a firm grim on his britches. We had a ton of fun! He has recovered well from the vaccinations, and was more himself today. It was great to have the never ending smile back.

Thanks Julie, Celi, Anne, Anne, Barb, Ann, Linda, Ella, and Melissa for checking in with us - it is much appreciated. :-D Forgive my shortened condensed version of Mannie's update. There always seems to be so much to do after a day with Nicholas, and now we have BJ's care thrown in the mix too. Mannie has had a decent day - a little high to start, but he has cleared it well - more like the Mannie that I used to know a few months back - so that was nice to see.
Ann - no worries, really on the name. Your thoughts were what counted most. :-D and yes - her real name is Blackjack, we've just shortened it to BJ.
Celi - love the dream - very nice, and thank you !
Barb - YES on the sitting still!  She did do better i that department today. PHEW!
Anne - Mannie loves DGS. Elsa and BJ kinda of pay him no mind. Elsa can be a bit aloof anyways, and BJ being the old lady that she is sleeps most of the time, and when awake she checks up on him too.
THANKS everyone for visiting!

BJ update: things are pretty much the same as yesterday, not really much improvement. She tolerates the feedings well, and I haven't had any issues with the Etube. It really is very easy to use. She's still on bupe for the pain, and once that's on board she is more or less zonked. So we hope things start to improve soon. We have a followup appt on Saturday for a bandage change, and then on Tuesday for a reevaluation of her chemistries. We are still waiting on the lab reports - I may have to call them. She is resting comfortably, in her favorite spots.

Re: 12/29 Mannie PMPS 171, +2 191

191 @ +2. food spike, perhaps... but still blue!

OK... silly bean forgot to let me write - shesshhhh! BJ says thanks again tot eh KTSS. She loves chicken soup - even the super blended kind. The aroma is so cool. She lie,s the new fleece that everyone brought too. You guys are the best! Checks - man you make great broth - moggie too! so....... thanks guys! Let's spend tonight planning our party! ~ Mannie

Re: 12/29 Mannie PMPS 171

Nice recovery there Mannie! :-D I'm glad the etube is working out for BJ. I hope she starts responding soon. Poor old lady.

Mannie, OK planning tonight. Your place so we can visit BJ again?``-- Tess

Re: 12/29 Mannie PMPS 171

thanks Ann - I do too. Poor thing... it tough to see them like this. Yup on Mannie - it is a nice recovery: PHEW!

Tess - that would be so cool!! I'll make niptinis and stuff and we can plan. hey - maybe we could get one to BJ through that tube thingie she has... See you! ~~ Mannie

Re: 12/29 Mannie PMPS 171, +2 191

Hi Michelle, glad you got out today with Nicholas to a river park, and I can picture DGS wanting in the water. Looking forward to some pics tomorrow. Great to hear BJ is tolerating the feeding tube and resting comfortably with the Bupe. I hope you get the test results tomorrow.
Maggie says she's glad BJ liked her soup. Hey some niptunis in the feeding tube sounds like just the thing BJ needs. :-D Maggie's Bean wants one, too. :-D Have a good night.

Re: 12/29 Mannie PMPS 171, +2 191

Hi Michelle,
Very glad to hear that all is OK at your home and that BJ is comfortable. It's very good that you are having no problems with the e tube. Mannie did well today, too.

Just wanted to check in to say ni ni and wish you a good evening.

Ella & Rusty (on his way, I think, to help with party planning; well, maybe. He's heading into the bedroom to go to sleep!)

194 @ +4. whoa - a blue surf!... or so I hope... not headed up are we Mannie?

Hi Ella - thanks! I think BJ is just glad to be home. You can tell she still does not feel well, but she is happy with where she picks to camp out. Oh paws crossed on the tube - so far it was been very very easy. Short of BJ who gets a little wiggly.... and thanks - evening has been ok, not too crazy - we are beginning to get BJ's routine set, so tings are better tonight. :-D Too funny on Rusty! he knows when all should be asleep!

Hi Ann - me too! it was a nice county park, lots of play areas, and the river. Nicholas enjoyed it, I think. He just loves the rivers! Thanks on BJ - she's hanging in there - still does not feel very well, but she is doing well with the eTube. I am grateful for that. and thanks - night has been good so far. :-D

Maggie! your bean wants one of my niptinis??? SWEET! I will send some home with you. BJ says she was glad they worked in the tube - who would have thunk that??? ~~ Mannie

Mannie, are you picking us up for Rusty's New Year's Eve party? Pretty please? We can't wait! I'm sorry your sister BJ has been sick, my sister Tawny was really sick these last couple of months and she has an e-tube, too. Mommie doesn't have to use it much anymore, tho, Tawny is lots better and is eating like a horse! She is practically eating more than me right now and I can eat a lot! My Mommie said to tell your Mommie if she needs any help w/the e-tube feeding to just let her know, that she'd be happy to help any way she can. Karrie is the real expert, tho! I hope your sister gets better soon.

When you come to pick us up for the party make sure you stay away from those banjo sounds if you hear any coming out of the woods, tho! We live way out in the boonies down here in Loooooo-weeeeezy-annnnnna and sometimes they got that Deliverance thing goin' on, 'specially on holidays! There's a canoeing kitty in Rusty's condo that understands! Love, Tinkerbell

Michelle, I got Tawny a couple of Kitty Kollars & I really love them but a word of caution, which actually doesn't just apply to the Kitty Kollar: b4 I got the Kollars I had to change Tawny's dressing around her neck twice a day. They vet said to use a little piece of gauze around the e-tube incision site, then wrap cotton gauze around her neck 3 times, then wrap one of those stick to itself wraps around that. This worked really good except that the little square piece of gauze that was supposed to stay around the e-tube incision kept slipping out. So I started cutting a hole in the center of it, like I had seen the holes cut in the little round gauze-cotton pieces that come with the Kitty Kollars that are there so that you can just slip it over the tube and then put the Kollar on. Then I got the Kitty Kollars and started using those. Don't get me wrong, they are an awesome product and I love them. But twice Tawny has ripped some of her stitches loose, once b4 the Kitty Kollars & once since. And this last time I realized that she was digging and digging and digging at her neck all the time whether she was wearing the hospital-type dressing or the Kollar and that even just the tiniest edge of that little piece of gauze would slip out and she would get a hold of it and pull and pull and pull. Bcuz it was a solid piece w/a hole in the middle it wouldn't just fall out, and with her digging at it she apparently got a hold of it and pulled and pulled and pulled and pulled her stitches loose. So now I cut it open from the center up to the edge of the gauzy thing so that if it works it way out from under the Kollar or the dressing and she gets a hold of it it will just slip out. I need to call that Kitty Kollar lady about this too I think. The Kollars are great and she was really nice on the phone and I bet she'd like to know about this. Good luck w/your e-tube feedings, I hope BJ feels better soon. If you need any help, just holler, tho Karrie is the real expert here. What are you feeding thru the e-tube anyway? Are you straining it? ~ Desi

Wow what a nice day for Mannie to come right back down into blue. Loved those nice surfy greens yesterday.

Can't believe the nanner king left his stash for the Christmas tree!!!

Hope you all had a lovely day and DGS felt better. Glad it is going well with feeding BJ. Still sending more healing vines for her.

Hi Desi - many thanks! and thanks too on the info on the kitty-kollar. I am glad that BJ is leaving her neck wrap alone. well, son far anyways... :-D so far we are doing OK. I will be glad when BJ feels better. And the feeding is going well - phew!, AND WHAT A RELIEF! BJ is on Hills l/d, mixed with water, and pureed in a blender. I have not had to strain it - this concoction is so soupy, no lumps etc.

Hey Tawny, and Tinkerbell - YOU BETCHA! I will picks you up for the party! it will be the bestest ever! Tawny you have to come and visit my sister then, she feels kind bad ya know. maybe if she knew she'd get better she would feel good an stuff. You guys are the best. and uhhhhhhh...... OK on the banjo stuff - I will stay away. I never been to the boonies down in Loooooo-weeeeezy-annnnnna .... maybe I had better get a map. see you guys! ~~ Mannie

Hi Marje - it has been a good day - and now we seem to have a nice blue surf. YAY! and yes - yesterday was nice! I evolved the amps - woke me up, but it was great. and hanks on BJ - she's tolerating the tube well, now if she would just start feeling better. thanks too on DGS - he's back in prime form: we had a terrific day today - fun stuff!

Well.... this bean is toast... Mannie is surfin' (I hope!), and this bean is off to NI NI!
