Good Evening ,

it’s been a while but salems doing so good . At one time I thought he was in Remissions cause I did nt need to give him insulin everyday . He was going under 50 too much and we were already down to 1/2 units if insulin’s sometimes he was given insulin only once a day . I’m not sure how the over the dose works ?? I need to read more about it . Cause he’s doing great but like I said he still goes up but comes down on he’s own to a good sugar level around 80 . He’s still being a sneaky cat and getting into the room I fed the other cats who are not diabetic . Any help with remission I would gladly wish someone to help me understand it ? Oh snd he’s sheet isn’t updated I been so busy with so much going on at home . Issues in my personal life that I am way behind too far behind ti catch up on the sheet but I’m hoping to our hrs test in this January 1st 2022

I'm glad Salem is doing well. I hope you had a good Christmas. There are doses that are lower than 1/2 unit (0.5). You can go down to 0.25 units, 0.1 units and "some" insulin. Take a look at this sticky for information on drawing the smaller doses.

Ok yeah he’s almost hardly taking any insulin just now and then . Some days he’s eats the high carb food when I’m busy he sneaks still sneaky kitty snd I just do not feed him snd he’s sugar goes down on it’s own so I dnt give him insulin all the time . It would be great if he could just stop it all but I’m still checking him snd I’m afraid to completely stop he’s insulin . He’s lost weight too cause I have been not feeding him so much cause I know overweight causes diabetes so I think that’s helped alot too . He’s overv10 years old now so I worry he might not be here much longer I have seen these other diabetics cats go into remission then die a few years later with cancer or some other complication . I love him soooo much so I hope he does ok snd haas many years still to come I know cats can live a long time . My sister in law has a car so old 25 I think she got blind snd death so she had to put her down after she lost control of her bowel and urine movements . People would accidentally step on her tail she did nothing poor baby so old . Yes we had a great Christmas I hope y’all did as well ! My grandbaby is almost walking ! She’s been keeping me busy . She’s such a hot yo our lives ! Being grandmaw is great ! Her first Christmas . She knew something was going on but she’s too little to understand it all . But she was excited opening presents ! In fact she got caught opening presents twice lol ! Hope your cat is doing good too ! I miss all
