I hate to be a downer on Christmas eve/Christmas.

Just as I was getting in bed tonight, I inadvertently felt a lump on Shadow's tail about 2 inches away from the base. It's the size of a small grape and
firm to the touch.
I don't usually touch her tail, she's never liked it.
The vet hadn't noticed it either.

So I guess we'll be adding that to investigate on our visit to Albuquerque vet on Dec 26. :YMSIGH:
But it sure makes me feel like her chances are much higher that the pelvis/leg issue is cancer rather than osteo.

I don't know why everything is falling apart so.
I am so Blessed.
So I am trying to find the silver lining and not seeing it at the moment. I usually can find some most of the time.

My DGM was released from the hospital this morning. She's mostly better but extremely tired. I can't tell if she's just depressed about
the whole move or if she might have had a tiny stroke. All we can do is watch and see.
I know that changing to a high altitude can make one really tired.
Tomorrow we'll have my DM over and I'll watch whether or not my grandmother participates in the conversation.
I just feel like she's missing a few brain cells.

I wish for all of you to have a Merry Christmas. Mine has been overshadowed by a huge dark cloud ....

Marje just told me about Gus having a sebaceous cyst .....

I am praying hard that is all Shadow has and osteoarthritis. cat_pet_icon

She was just batting around a toy for a few moments.

(((Rhiannon))) May the holiday season and New Year turn things around and blow that black cloud away from you. I'm glad you'll have everyone home for Christmas this year.

My Buster (GA) had a lump on his tail. It was removed - it was nothing but a lump, but it did look funny to have part of his long haired tail trimmed away. Give Shadow some scritches from me. On her front end. :-D

Nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for you, Shadow, DGM, and DM. A family friend of ours also had a cat with a cyst on his tail like Gus had. Wishing you much peace this holiday...

Merry Christmas Rhiannon,

Prayers for shadow and your family. Praying for the dark cloud to leave ... Also for peace until your appointment.

Rhiannon, sending prayers and hugs to you and our family. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: I hope you can have a good Christmas with your family tomorrow and get a good report from the vet on Thursday.

Will be praying that a Christmas miracle finds it's way to your home and your heart Rhiannon

You certainly deserve one after all you've been through lately.

Try to enjoy the time you have, especially over the holidays. It might not be the perfect holiday, but in the awful case that it's the last, the memories you have should be of enjoying your time together, not worrying about things none of us can control.

Good to hear DGM is out of the hospital, and hoping that with a little time, she'll adjust to the altitude as well as her new living situation and any limitations her health throws at her. Remember, our parents and grandparents have lived through a lot of tough times. She may still be able to bounce back further than anyone imagines.

Sending many healing and calming vines your way

I'm so sorry that you have an icky dark cloud invading your space ((Rhiannon)), happy to hear that you are with family today and I'll be praying that the lump is just that, nothing more than that and that cloud will part ways to bring sunlight and warmth to you and Shadow! :YMHUG:
Merry Christmas!!

Hugs to you Rhiannon... My BJ had lumps like that - they were always cysts, so I will hold a positive thought for Shadow that that is all it is. I wish you a good day today, it sounds like there is alot on your plate. Merry Christmas to you, and your family. Hugs to all.

Merry Christmas Rhiannon,

Sending positive vines over you and your family. My sister's kitty had a sebaceous cyst near the base of his tail, so hoping that is all Shadow has also.
Christmas wish of health and happiness to you and yours :-D

Merry Christmas Rhiannon & Shadow! I know how you feel with the dark cloud hanging around this holiday season. My 96 yo DGM recently fell at her place and ended up with 2 broken ribs and a HUGE scrape down her entire arm. Needless to say, off to the hospital she went and now she's in rehab. It's very difficult to be so far away from family this time of year and my job doesn't allow me any time off to travel such a great distance. We're not sure she'll be able to return to her place if she can't care for herself. And... things are still pretty difficult here with Mego's passing. A few tears seeped from the eyes last night as I was lying in bed thinking about all the xmas wrapping & tissue paper Mego wouldn't be around to play with and hide under.

I hope things get better with DGM. Did they check her for a UTI? UTIs in older adults can make them do some crazy stuff! I will do my best to blow those dark clouds away for you. I hope you are able to enjoy some part of this holiday season with some good laughs.

Healing vines coming your way for Shadow and hoping the lump is nothing serious. Keeping you in my thoughts.

((((Rhiannon)))) You do have so much to deal with right now. Sending good vetty vines for Shadow. Who knew sebaceous cysts on tails were so common? Healing energy for DGM and DM. I hope you have a nice and peaceful Christmas Day.
Liz

Merry Christmas to you, Rhiannon.
Sending lots of healing vines and prayers to you and your family, including Shadow.

I know God has a plan for each of us, but sometimes it can be hard to figure out. I know you can do this. You're a strong woman!!! I'm going to keep positive thoughts that the lump is a cyst. I just had a lump on Champ's side checked out a few weeks ago and was told it was nothing to worry about and to treat it with "benign neglect." I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending up prayers for a good report from the vet. I'll be checking in to see your posts.

Now.....Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

Rhiannon,
I hope you're able to put your worries aside for the day and have a Merry Christmas. Sending many positive vines your way.

I'm so sorry for all your worries right now, Rhiannon. Sending you hugs and all the vines of all different sorts, for whatever is needed :YMHUG: I hope you had a wonderful day and a Merry Christmas :-D

Merry Christmas Rhiannon & Shadow

Sending healing vines to your family and I hope Shadow's lump is nothing to worry about.

This doesn't happen often, but here we all are, sending prayers for cysts! Shasta and I are also sending good vetty visit vines to you and Shadow and many healing vines to your DGM and DM. And to top it all off with...sending comfort vines and peace of mind vines to you. Merry Christmas, Rhiannon.
