Yesterday's I'll Only Go Green if You're Not Watching Condo
Cinco had something of a pokey break yesterday, as Mama was gone and Daddy was busy. So of course, he snuck down to the lagoon to visit China! Don't know if he went again last night, although I doubt it. We're home all day and night today, so I'm guessing we'll get a yellow surf. Tomorrow is his Vet appt. to get a new insulin script, so he'll probably dive. QUESTION: I am going to ask for a script for pens instead of a vial of Lantus. What specifically do I ask for, please? We've only ever used vials, so I'm not sure. Thanks.
I got the call from UCD this morning on Minka. It is definitely renal lymphoma.   She starts chemo tomorrow morning. They will do it once a week with four different drugs, one each week, and then reassess. They said this is a very aggressive cancer and usually spreads to the brain and/or spine. They said some cats respond to the chemo and some don't. They should know after the first four weeks which applies to Minka. They stressed that she has some good things going for her: She does not feel or act ill - many cats at her stage are miserable. Her kidney values improved with fluids. She's eating, albeit with help. Even if she responds to chemo, her life expectancy is most likely less than a year, but ECID. Needless to say, we are devastated. Please keep her in your prayers.
Sasha ate her breakfast, with the added incentive of the Hypo treats mixed in, so I did not give her the Mirtz dose that was due today. I'm playing that by ear.
Harvey is eating and being Harvey. I'm really holding onto the fact that he's improved so much on the current treatment, hoping it means it is IBD and not lymphoma.
It is raining (again) and we are NOT complaining, but DH is talking about building an ark! I'm just glad yard work is totally out of the picture - one less chore I don't have to feel guilty about not having time for.
I have tons to do, but am having trouble getting motivated. I think I'll go hug a cat.
Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Prayers continuing for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Lisa's DF and Elise's DM. Good vetty vines to Skooter and anyone else who needs them.
