His breeder registered him as Linanci's Gen'Earation neXt.
His vet records say "Bailey". But he's been my Butthead since he was a kitten. His dad's unofficial name is Bubba, so it's not that weird, I guess. Butthead's Foldie brothers are Beluga (black and white) and Bear (longhair red tabby).

Butthead would like to thank the KTSS for their exceptional services today.
When I came home, Butthead was purring like a motorboat :mrgreen:
Now he is in that happy dopey place known as Bupe-land.
Boy does that stuff make him stoned.... physically there, but mentally somewhere else.

Thanks, and *hugs* to anyone else here who could use a trip to Bupe-land.
My internetz has been rather constipated, so am having problems reading and posting.
Hopefully I can catch up this weekend.

Very nice fashion accessory, Butthead. You like that bupe-land, huh? I'm glad he's doing better, MJ. I'm still sending healing vines and prayers for a negative biopsy.

Butthead is bandana-less today. It wasn't tightly attached to him, and it kept getting wet when he drank from the water fountain, so he probably thought "Screw this" and wiggled out of it. When I left, he was curled up snoozing inside a kitty condo, and I couldn't bear to disturb him. He's been behaving nicely, so I'll take my chances. I didn't send him to Bupe-land this morning either. He really doesn't seem to need it. He's a happy purry Butthead. Actually, it sounds like removing the lymph node in his neck made his purr LOUDER :shock:

I don't have biopsy results yet, so don't really know what's going on there, but the vet thought it looked suspicious. It's not her specialty, though, hence her recommendation that I meet with an oncologist. Can't start any treatment until he heals from surgery, so he gets his stitches out on Dec 29, and appt with oncologist is Dec 30.

Thanks for all of your good thoughts. This has been a really sucky situation on top of other crap I've had to deal with.... trying to catch up with FDMB and all your condos, but either this PC or the internetz is painfully constipated. Everything takes forever :?

I love the scarf. Wish I had of thought of something like that when Tori had her neck biopsy done. From your photo it looks like his lump was slightly higher up than Tori's was. When are you expecting the biopsy results back? I know the week I waited for Tori's seemed to last forever. I'm glad you have a good team for your baby. If chemo is the route that you wind up taking just remember that Tori is almost at the 6 month mark since diagnosis and she's still going strong. I'm holding your baby in my prayers for sure.

Vet removed the lymph node in his neck, plus leftover remnants of his ear (that hard bump in the back). The main fear is that while the original tumor was not lymphoma, it may have moved to his lymph system and can travel to other nodes, so allegedly chemo treatment will help keep it in check (?)

Taking Butthead to the vet this afternoon. Lots of swelling at the incision site. Poor thing looks like a poster child for goiter. He seems oblivious to it all, thankfully - happy and purring. More later.

We're back. He has already resorbed some of the fluid, and vet says it's OK. She's hesitant to drain it and introduce a site for infection. Just need to keep an eye on it.

I let him walk from the car to the house and he got covered in snowflakes :cool:

Did the vet say if a warm dry compress (ex wrapped in plastic) might help circulation to clear the buildup?

Yeah, his take-home instructions after surgery were several days of cold followed by warm compresses. He'd probably enjoy the warm one better than the cold.

I would maybe call the vet and ask if warm is okay with the swelling. I think they would be assuming that it wouldn't be swollen like that.

My husband had surgery and applying warm instead of cold to his swelling caused a nightmare. I'd ask first.

Edit - the warm was applied a week after the surgery after the post op instructions had ended.

No biopsy results yet.
Butthead had some excessive swelling yesterday, but today vet said all is well. As long as he acts OK and doesn't show signs of infection, some fluid buildup is not unexpected.

then we're still focusing our energy on good biopsy results for Der Buttheadmeisterman!

fingers, paws and eyes crossed too...(guess we'll find out whether they'll freeze that way like mama told us)

Im just catching up to speed here and sorry to hear what is going on. It sounds like you are on top of things, and have very good vets to help figure out what is going on and make the best decisions. Im sending TRUCK LOADS of snowflakes to butthead. We have a never ending supply here, so consider them yours for the taking if you feel the need for more.

But the swelling/fluid has gone down dramatically since last week. Stitches out Wed afternoon, oncologist appt late Thursday morning. Butthead gets to take a road trip to Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston :cool:

Glad to hear the swelling is down. At least by reputation, there are few places better than Angell. I'm sure Butthead will get excellent care. Please update when you know more.

I'm glad the swelling is down and paws crossed for the oncologist appt tomorrow. I bet he'll be happy getting the stitches out this afternoon. Sending vines and white healing light, I don't think you need any more snowflakes out there.

I'm sending little Butthead an air kiss for the top of his cute head. Best wishes for today's visit and tomorrow's appt with oncologist. I've thinking of you guys. Loved the photos and seeing him as a kitten with his daddy was so cute. Your description of his loud rumbling purr makes me smile.
