As the title says 😣

He has a history of ketones, is giving no dose an option? I have an appointment so i cant be home to monitor

Retested for strip error - 106
 
So flat…ok how do you feel about giving 0.25u and feeding some MC at shot time? He’s probably at late nadir here, so he’ll trend up, and the MC will help in case you aren’t home until a little later. Depending on when you get home, you can leave some more MC out for him.

Good idea with the mc! The only issue I have is that he doesnt care for the mc all that much lol so id need to make sure hel eat it before i shoot
 
Last resort you can add a couple of pieces of that kibble he likes but with a reduced dose, and aborting the cycle, he’ll likely go high again.
 
I think some insulin is the way to go. And remember, you can still give him a few pieces of kibble if you really want to make sure. Kibble will last longer in his system. He’s sure testing your nerves these days with his late nadirs :bighug:.

Okay, we’re home and now i can get my BEARings! Lol
+4 219.. so that mc and kibble helped out a lot!
I was so nervous for him the whole time i was gone 😩
I think ive updated his sheet, with all the chaos this am i wasnt focused on getting the data in, but it should be caught up.

Bear’s siblings were also fighting the whole time this was all going on lol so let’s just say its been a day so far!
 
I’m glad to hear he’s a happy boy! I was musing this morning when out walking my pup, and really had been hoping we hadn’t taken one too many tools out of the toolbox :rolleyes:. Glad his +4 isn’t super high. Today gives you some more insight especially on stalling. Even last time you stalled, he stayed pretty flat, then shot reduced dose, and he went up 45 points with a food bump at +1, stayed in yellows, then came down to blues the next am.

The good news is he seems fairly quick to get back to business, even with a reduced shot. Hoping he doesn’t go too high at PMPS, but since you weren’t going to be around for the several hours, it was the safest thing :bighug:

I think everything was perfectly justified, given the amps and the fact that that is totally not his norm amps, we’ve only ever hit those numbers mid cycle one time!
I think peace of mind is important and most importantly his safety, albeit i was a nervous wreck the whole day 😅

I wanted to ask, as im on my last can of wd, what would be a good mc and a good hc wet food? I need to restock, especially since he’s been playing more tricks on us lately.. i believe you said you were also in canada, we are in ontario if that helps for suggestions 🤗
 
I sure am, waving from Calgary :joyful:. Oh, speaking of, your world SS data looks good, but now you need to manually enter it into the US one. Friskies has some medium carb, although I used to use the Fancy Feast or the Wellness, so I can’t say for sure which varieties we have from this list https://catinfo.org/docs/CatFoodProteinFatCarbPhosphorusChart.pdf

I forgot, that was one thing I wanted to mention, it takes some time to figure out how carb sensitive your cat is, so that factors in. For some cats, they can get a fair bump up with just higher low carb, but then it also depends on when you are feeding the higher carb food and how much influence the insulin has at that point in the cycle. I used to joke that Maverick’s BG would go up just from the smell of medium carb lol.

What % is considered mc and hc? Sorry for all the questions .. this little kitty has fried my brain today😵‍💫 lol
 
My bad, I shouldn’t have assumed you knew. LC is under 10%, MC falls in 10-15% and high carb is above 15%. And no problem about questions, happy to help. Good thing Bear is so darn cute, that allows to create some dust ups now and again :)
