Gen took two dips into the blue last night, so of course he's now bounced waaaay back up into the "HI" zone. I'm choosing to feel encouraged.

Had a time getting him to eat/take his antibiotic this morning. (I'm not sure he got all of it in the end, but he definitely got most of it, after I did a little dance with putting the med-laced wet on top of his dry food and enticing him with freeze-dried tuna, sigh.) That plus another case of me sleeping in after a restless night put his shot an hour behind, which I am not thrilled about. We can't be shooting that late tomorrow morning, or I'll be in so much trouble at work! I know we need to walk it back slowly, but I'm hoping it'll be okay to do his shot at +11.5 tonight.

We're having a good snuggly morning watching the snow fall. (He snored a little earlier, which was just heartbreakingly cute!)

So cute! You're doing great getting those meds in him. It's so hard when they can smell something is amiss with their food and refuse to eat it. It would be so much easier if we could do injections for meds like we do for insulin. That would make everyone's life so much easier.

It's so good to see him dipping into the yellow and even blue, wow. Great job Gen! Come.on down and get comfy in those blues. (Leave the trampoline though)
Hopefully as his infections gets under control, he'll start coming into lower numbers!

Gen had a nice stretch of yellow and some blue last night! 💖
You will start to see more of that as things move along.

Sorry about the shot time, you’ll move it back on track and it will be fine.

Gen looks so sweet and cozy on a snow day.
Enjoy the calmer day and safe surfing Gen! 🌊🏄‍♂️😻

Hope those antibiotics help Gen feel better and clear up that infection quickly. 🤗

You both need a break 💕

Hope you both have a nice relaxing Sunday!

Thank you so much for the kind comments, friends. ❤️

Between the antibiotics and the dose increase, I'm hoping we'll start seeing more of that blue. I'm bracing myself a bit for activity in combination with what's ahead: my last work week of the calendar year, and then after a few days quiet, a week spent out of town at my parents' house. I need to figure out an urgent care/ER vet in my hometown area in case we need it, though I hope we don't!

Tomorrow I'll talk to my vet and see what we can see about scheduling the dental work. Ideally for early January (which would be great because, as a university employee, the first couple weeks of January are quiet and unusually flexible, before the next semester starts), but we'll see what she says.

Maybe it's all the pretty snow, but I am feeling a lot more hopeful. A lot of it is definitely all of you!

Nice to see some blues in the mix, hoping his toofie area where there was an abscess heals up quickly.
Abscess is unfortunately still current; the emergency vet told me that when it's in with the teeth like that they don't lance it, and it'll stay until surgery unless it shrinks away on its own (or ruptures, which I'm really hoping it won't). :/
