Ruby seems to be feeling better. Her appetite was not so great while on the coconut but now she is hungry all the time and bugging us for food. Lately, she's been jumping off the couch where I test her when I insert the needle for her shot. I got in about 1 unit when she jumped, then I injected the rest. I filled the syringe with insulin a half hour earlier so that it could warm to room temperature before I shot but it didn't seem to help. Smelled Lantus on her fur afterwards. Not a good thing to happen when she is in yellows.

Pawsitive point: she pooped today. :)

I barely have much energy to be here and helping out like I used to. :( Life post-pandemic has been a drastic lifestyle change for me, with much travel and a lot of mental and emotional energy spent on work. I come home spent everyday like some zombie. I do think about the FDMB all day long, lurk on the board to see how all of the kitties are doing, and miss being here so much. ❤️

Hope everyone has been well and kitties surfing safely. A big thanks to those of you who leave comments on our condos. I read them all. You have no idea how much they are appreciated. :bighug:

My heart and prayers go out to you and Ruby. I hope her numbers start to improve soon.:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thank you so much, Elise. :bighug: I worry about her but she seems to be acting quite normally. I asked her oncologist a few weeks ago if I could skip her December appointment because she was doing so well and she said that was fine, but now I am wondering if I jinxed it all. :(

I guess the coconut didn’t agree with her. Poop is good! Appetite is good! Don’t worry! She’s going to be okay. Remember the latest good mews from your most recent vet visit!

I haven't forgotten! I know her lymphoma isn't being treated without chlorambucil and we're just biding time here, but it's disappointing when she was doing so well for a while there BG wise. I try to control everything but somethings are outside my reach. A little frustrating, that's all.

I bet you will see better numbers soon! But it sure is a never ending juggling act with constant adjustments. Tiring! And now you have a very demanding job as well. I’m glad you have such a great partner in Frank!

Morning Katherine, I'm happy to hear that Ruby is eating so much better and has pooped. We totally understand if you can't comment that often, you are very busy with work and might have to travel often. Don't worry about it, we all know that you check in all the kitties. Just take care of yourself , we don't need you to burn yourself out. I'm sure you will start to see better numbers soon for Miss Ruby.Try not to worry my friend. Kisses to Ruby and Olive. Tell Frank to give you a really nice massage from head to toe :cat: :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Katherine,

I haven't been on the site in a while so today I found myself with some time and I happened to come upon your post. It breaks my heart to hear the exhaustion and frustration in your words. But I totally get it. These last 2 years haven't been easy on anyone's mental health, and for care-givers like us it is even harder. But this cannot go on forever and in the meantime you are still giving a lifetime's worth of love to sweet Ruby (and Olive and the whole family!) and I know she knows and appreciates it. :cat:

Hi Katherine, just a quick hello to let you know I read your posts and follow Ruby’s SS. I can only imagine how drained you must be. Work, traveling for work, worry about Ruby, hope Frank and Olive behave and maybe not balance it out but don’t add to your worries. :):cat: I hope Ruby’s numbers come down soon. Sending my loving prayers for rest for you and at the very least, blues for Ruby. Take care of yourself. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
