Le Condo de Yesterday...

All is well in Sooty-land this AM, still vacuuming up any food in the vicinity but otherwise, OK.

eta: Well how about that! Sooty just presented us with a P! So we dipped a stick and it's good - negative. Also not too much of it, a reasonable cat-sized pee - that's good (not to see a gallon and a half!)

ETA: I just called DCPAH at MSU and they said the test tubes that they were out of, arrived yesterday - and they now say they should have the delayed results out tomorrow afternoon...

Today: AMPS 288 +2 288 +4 230 +6 234 +8 255 PMPS 271

Re: 11/9 Sooty AMPS 288

Morning guys! Glad to see sooty gave you a neg reading and that his pee was the right amount! I hope that sooty will come down to the lower floors today, after all he's only starting out in yellow! have a great day guys!

Re: 11/9 Sooty AMPS 288

Morning boys!! This is the 3rd cycle on this new dose, right? Does Sooty realize that yet? Come on Sooty boy...let's see that insulin in action! Good that there was negative on the test...good job! Nice to know that symptom of FD is getting better. I used to be amazed at the amount that Shadow would deposit....a race horse comes to mind. :YMSIGH:
I still recall one day when I heard this noise in the kitchen...I thought someone let a dog in and it was drinking water!!!
My goodness..it was Shadow...and the slurping went on and on and on.....
Hope you all have a good Tuesday....hang in there.

ETA: Is this the same insulin you started on 9/24?

Hi Pat, GM (from TBP). I hope your two are good this morning... yes this is the 3rd cycle at 5.25u.

On the insulin, yes it's the same vial that we started 9/24 - I've been thinking about that too, it's been in use for about 6 weeks now but it has been very carefully handled and refrigerated, no air or excess insulin injected into the vial, a brand new syringe used every shot, frequent wipes w/ alcohol swab - and the solution is still as clear as a bell... so I should think that it would be very unlikely that it should be losing any potency...

...but of course, given the never-changing BGs we get, it would be impossible to know if it is just Sooty / insulin resistance, or if it could be the Lantus going 'off'. I don't want to dump a still-good vial but then on the other hand I certainly don't want to wait too long, just in case it is the Lantus (and then switching to a new supply, at the current "getting quite high now" dose, could suddenly knock Sooty right out of the ballpark...)

I was thinking that after we got those IGF-1 results (and maybe have some better idea about fuure dosing strategy), that then, we'll ask the vet for a new Rx (for the 5 SoloStar pens this time!) - what do you think, is that reasonable?

   good one Jill

Perry - I used my last vial for nearly 3months and I could have gone longer on it, it was just beoming unreliable, Shadow's numbers were not as predictable, but she didn't shoot sky high or anything. Then we started with the cartridges after that and it packed a bit of a punch with Shadow's numbers. Humans use their vials all the way to the end. On the other hand, Sooty could use a punch.

How about a nice Hawaiian Punch?

Jill, CD - too funny!

Kim, I think we're OK with this vial but I'm not going to push it too far...! Yes Sooty could sure do with something to get his attention! But I think a Hawaiian Punch would do me far more good, than him...! LOL!

Just for the record, today: AMPS 288 +2 288 +4 230 +6 234 +8 255 PMPS 271

Not quite as flat as usual, maybe??????

Sooty I think you get the prize for having the sunniest yellow ss.....although I agree that today was not as flat as usual.

Perry I hope you get the news you have been waiting for tomorrow.
