? 11/7 Update from Dallas and question.

Dallas boy

Member Since 2021
Hey everyone! It's been almost a month since Dallas has been OTJ and he is such a happy boy not being poked all the time! Mom and dad are also enjoying all the freedom! We've been checking him once a week and so far so good!

I just have a quick question. Dallas has asthma and his vet recommends the puffer. It has steroids, but she said it should not affect his BG as the steroid is delivered directly in the airway, but recommends to keep an eye on his BG anyway. Now, him getting kicked out of remission is a HUGE fear of mine. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a kitty who is OTJ and has successfully stayed there while being on the puffer? I'd much rather him stay in remission than get this puffer. I only catch him coughing once every 1-2 weeks, but I am at work all day so who really knows.

You might want to also post this in the Feline Health forum, and make the subject line something like "asthma treatment OK for OTJ cat", or something like that. That'll draw eyes of people who might have experience. I have seen cats on insulin get the puffers. Which one are you planning to give?

I will do that. Thank you! I don't think she specified which one. She just said AeroCat Chamber and a steroid inhaler.
