Hi Diane,

Glad to hear your dad is in a good place up in Bloomingdale. That must make you feel relieved that he is in good hands.
Hi Paul, yes it does, it's only been one day that he's there, and already called me and my sister to get him out of there.
I spoke to his nurse and said give him time to get used to everyone, and his surroundings.
Said he was confused, leaving his room a lot walking around and going to the nurses station .
He was always one to never stay put, always as out of the house early in the morning.
Physical therapist was there today to asses him, so hopefully will start therapy Monday.
Keep him occupied.
He was getting so mad at us for putting him there which broke our hearts, so we just keep telling him you need to get stronger and that's why you are there.

After 14 days we can go visit, will face time him this week.
Don't know if that will be a good idea yet, he'll probably really lay into us.

Hasn't been eating good they told us but tonight they took him to the
cafeteria to eat rather than in his room and he ate really good.
Sleeping now, I just called to check on him.

Funny they took him there last night by ambulance and he asked the guy could they
make a pit stop, the guy said where, he said to my sister's house to get the money he had there, the guy said sorry but no.
He didn't forget about that lol
LikecI said you will talk to him and he fully understands what you're talking about and the next minute he's in another world.
Hopefully his mind will improve.
Today was his birthday 87 years old. They got him some balloons.
I guess it will just take time for him to get used to everything.
I hope so.
So will take it day by day.:bighug::cat:

Happy belated birthday to your dad! :bighug::bighug: How sweet that they got him some balloons, and so wonderful that they tried taking him to the cafeteria to get him to eat better. Sounds like he is in a good place. I hope he doesn't lay into you too much.:bighug:

Aww thank you Lyla, waiting to see how many times he calls us today. The nurse asked me if he has a cell phone, I said you have to be kidding me, he's 87 , has Alzheimer's, had a stroke and you think he can use a cell phone.

He had one before all of his medical problems and could barely dial a number.
He will ask the aid to call us from where ever a phone is.

We can face time with him, the aids have a phone or tablet there so we can do this.
I just never believed this would happen to him Lyla.
This may sound really weird or crazy, but it makes me think about death more.
Sounds crazy right, I'll be 65 in April, I don't even want to think about it, I say to myself how did this happen lol

I feel like I'm still in my 30's ( I wish I was )
I'll check in later for Butters update. ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:
