Yesterday...
Wonky AMPS today? But he was great this morning, lots of purrs and head bumps when I came down to give him his pre-shot poke.
Have started delaying his shots (starting last night's PM), to move that extra hour... we'll be at +30 minutes by tonight..
Hoping for those pesky Lab results today...

Today: AMPS 332 +2 261 +4 230 +6 217 +8 273 PMPS 263

MSU Lab update - (should get results soon)

Had an update from the Vet's office. They already have the IAA result and they've spoken with MSU and it's confirmed they'll be faxing the IGF-1 result sometime this afternoon.

Our Vet, the office person said, needs or wants to review both the results, before she talks to us... (sheesh... like we don't know that DCPAH already interprets the results for them?) but anyhoo - we should hear from her, once she's done so...

So it won't be long now...!

It's driving me nuts - I've even been tempted to call the lab myself... (but don't get me wrong, I don't think it's MSU's fault, for one minute!!)
Don't people realize what they are doing to us? I guess not...

Make sure that the vet gives you the two numbers (IAA and IGF-1). Sometimes they like to tell you that it's positive, negative, or inconclusive, but we track the numbers.

OK I cracked. I called them myself!! And I spoke to a very nice and understanding lady - but alas - no, they can't give test results to the pet owner - they have to give them to the ordering Dr / Clinic. But that wasnt all...

She said they actually received the blood samples on 10/26 - (so the Vet's office did their part great! The blood was drawn 10/25 and they overnighted it..)
But apparently, there was a glitch with that week's IGF-1 test run - so they had to redo them. And now, this week, they have had another glitch. They have now run out of some special tubes, that they need in order to perform the IGF-1 assay. These were ordered OK and were supposed to be delivered there today - but as of 2:00 EDT they hadn't arrived yet. So we STILL have no ETA for the IGF-1 test results as of this minute.

Man!!!! it never rains, but it pours, huh?

We may get to go and see our new (3 mo. old now!) grandson, in England, by his 21st birthday, at this rate!!! grrrrr again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they're not gonna make you wait through the weekend, are they? I would think they could at least give you the IAA result if the IGF-1 hasn't come in.

My vet did the same thing, actually. I had to keep calling for the results. First the vet was out of town and the tech couldn't give me the results. Then I called on Monday and the vet didn't call me back until the end of the day. My theory is that she didn't know what to do about a positive acro result and had to research it before she called me.

You do have far more patience than I do. I've probably be setting up camp in the vet's office.

I'll try them again tomorrow, see if I can pry the IAA results out of 'em !!

sounds like that lab is populated with excuses. :lol:

Oh my, I'd be livid with all this waiting! But you're doing everything you can. Hope you get some sort of answer tomorrow.

I suppose there is one thing that FD teaches you (and all you lovely people here on FDMB!) - that would be 'patience'! (and as you'll perhaps, recall, that isn't something that I started out with very much of, around here!)

It's just Murphy's Law at work here, I guess - if MSU DCPAH was going to have not one, but TWO snafus, it just WOULD have to be be the very week that we sent them Sooty's blood, wouldn't it! Grrrrrrrr!!

Thanks for all your support everyone, though, it really helps.
