Hi everyone!
Chispa had a vet visit yesterday to find out why she was pawing at her mouth after eating. It turned out that she had an abscessed tooth -- not great news, but still probably the best case scenario out of all the other things it could have been. (It's almost two years ago that I lost my sweet Chulo to OSCC, and I was scared to death that it could be that.) We were also lucky that they had a cancellation for a dental today, so I took her in early this morning and then tried not to fret all day. She did fine under anesthesia, they pulled the offending molar, and they also took out two of the tiny incisors in front. She's home now and chilling on her crinkly paper, looking a little subdued but not nearly as unhappy as she did when they pulled six teeth last February. She has Onsior for pain management and Clavamox to clear up whatever infection remains from the abscess.
Thanks SO much to all who sent good wishes yesterday!! I'm sorry that the day got away from me and I didn't get to respond, but just know that all the good vibes were felt and appreciated.
