Just another typical day in our house...yucky numbers, a trip to the vet...nothing out of the ordinary.
This is Trix's 6th cycle on this dose; I guess I'll raise her yet again tomorrow morning if we see no change. I'm going to try and get her to the vet after Thanksgiving, to give her the once-over in case something else is causing this insanity. She is still behaving completely normally...spunky, appy is normal, LB is normal, etc. :YMSIGH: .
What are the chances that this pen is bad? It's only a couple weeks old...but has anyone ever started out with insulin that was toast from the get-go?
Frankie's vet visit was semi-inconclusive. She was obviously uncomfortable when the vet tried to palpate her abomen. They snapped an x-ray, and everything looked pretty much normal; no blockages and no major back up of stool. One of her anal glands was pretty full, so they expressed it. They tried to draw urine, but of course she was empty, so I have to try and get a sample at home. Woohoo. I did catch her trying to poop in the box this morning; all she produced was a hard little pellet. She tried a second time; nothing, and when she jumped out of the box, she did some scooting. They gave her some fluids to try and help move things along, and we're starting her on Miralax as well. So, we're basically in a holding pattern for now.
Gotta head to work...will visit condos as I can today and this evening!
