Good morning LL!
4 p's this morning. Tarragon slept next to me all night watching Charlie, so he know something is up. Happy, purry, cuddly kitties all night helped keep it nice and warm.
I dropped Charlie off this morning at the ortho. He was not happy about not eating but forgot about it once he knew he got to go on a car ride. Surgery is at 1 and they will keep me posted. It should take about 2 hours and he will come home tonight. I have taken the next 10 days off of work to be home with him, which will give me a good chance to spend some time with Tarragon as well. When they have the surgery done, they have to be confined to a small area and can only go outside on a leash. He will have to be on a leash for the next 8-12 weeks anytime he is outside. No jumping, running, stairs, etc. Thankfully Charlie has never been allowed on the furniture and we have a ranch house so it is a little easier with him than most dogs. He is also an older dog at 8 and is easier to keep calm in the house. DH papered all of the floors with rugs before we left since we have laminate and tile and Charlie will be one legged for awhile.
I am feeling better this morning and actually didn't cry when I dropped him off. I did plenty of that last night! I have a lot of faith in this surgeon and know that he does 2 - 3 ccl surgeries a week. Thank you all for your good thoughts. Tarragon was very concerned and, I'm sure, will be anxiously waiting for us to get home tonight so he can rub the vetty smell off of Charlie. I will definitely have to get some video since I will have so much time on my hands.
