Good morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O)

4 p's this morning. Tarragon slept next to me all night watching Charlie, so he know something is up. Happy, purry, cuddly kitties all night helped keep it nice and warm.

I dropped Charlie off this morning at the ortho. He was not happy about not eating but forgot about it once he knew he got to go on a car ride. Surgery is at 1 and they will keep me posted. It should take about 2 hours and he will come home tonight. I have taken the next 10 days off of work to be home with him, which will give me a good chance to spend some time with Tarragon as well. When they have the surgery done, they have to be confined to a small area and can only go outside on a leash. He will have to be on a leash for the next 8-12 weeks anytime he is outside. No jumping, running, stairs, etc. Thankfully Charlie has never been allowed on the furniture and we have a ranch house so it is a little easier with him than most dogs. He is also an older dog at 8 and is easier to keep calm in the house. DH papered all of the floors with rugs before we left since we have laminate and tile and Charlie will be one legged for awhile.

I am feeling better this morning and actually didn't cry when I dropped him off. I did plenty of that last night! I have a lot of faith in this surgeon and know that he does 2 - 3 ccl surgeries a week. Thank you all for your good thoughts. Tarragon was very concerned and, I'm sure, will be anxiously waiting for us to get home tonight so he can rub the vetty smell off of Charlie. I will definitely have to get some video since I will have so much time on my hands.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Melissa, big hugs and prayers...praying for a successful surgery and quick recuperation and rehab. It is wonderful that you can take the next 10 days off from work. They should allow you to take it as sick leave since Charlie is your baby. Sounds like a pretty big job taking care of him but you sure have everything planned out. Charlie is one lucky dog to have you as a bean. And Tarragon will certainly love the extra attention over the next 10 days since you will be home. I will be looking for your update this afternoon.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

I also will be awaiting your update. Prayers for Charlie, a fast and complete recovery. Get a video of Tarragon rubbing the vetty smell off of Charlie if you can.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Many prayers for Charlie. It sounds like he's in great hands...both at the vet and at home! I'll be watching for updates!

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Nice to have kitties keep you warm, the best blanket!
My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie today for a quick easy surgery and a speedy recovery.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Hi guys .. definite prayers headed charlies way! I am sure the surgery will go smooth and keeping fingers crossed it is a nice easy recovery, for all of you .. Hugs to you all today!!

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Hi Melissa, lots of hugs and prayers coming your way for both you and Charlie. It sounds like you have a lot of faith and confidence in the surgeon which means everything. I can't wait til Charlie comes home. Tarragon, hang in there; Charlie will need a good bath when he comes home. Great that you have this time off, too, and Charlie, Tarragon and turmup will love having you home. Will be waiting for updates. Maggie and I send headbutts and hugs.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Morning Tarragon lets come down off that pink floor soon and sending lots of prayers for Charlie today :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Hi Melissa,
Thinking good thoughts for Charlie's surgery today. It looks like you, DH, and Tarragon have everything under control. Charlie will get the best care, and KTSS will stop by too, to help Tarragon deal with vetty smell.

Update when you can.

Lots of hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Keeping Charlie in our hearts today! You are so well prepared everything will torn out great!

T-man, do you want KTSS to help get the vetty smell off Charlie tonight? We can bring him hot dogs from NYC too. -- Tess

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Love and prayers to Charlie/Tarragon and Mom --- hang in there! They'll be wanting some of that turkey that's coming round the corner ;-) You're so on the ball to notice these things...a torn ligament? I don't think I would have even thought of that!

Hugs and Healing vines all the way for the babies!

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

(((Melissa)))) Thinking of you today and sending you extra big hugs. Also sending Charlie lots of prayers and healing vines to him and Tarragon.

You are a great, strong mamabean...your babies will do great. I hope you are getting Family Medical Leave for Charlie ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D Please keep us posted on his surgery today.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon AMPS 301

Been thinking of Charlie, you, DH, and T all day. Turnup too. Will be watching for your report when he gets out of surgery. Sending healing energy to everyone and to the medical team.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 Charlie Update

Tarragon is skittish tonight. I'm sure it's because Charlie is gone. I am looking forward to the next 10 days so I can monitor T a lot closer. Good thing reinforcement strips are on the way.

Charlie got out of surgery at 3:30 and I spoke to the dr at 4. Everything went well. He did have a complete tear of his ccl, but it was still really fresh so that made it much easier to repair. They put in 180 pound test line. He shouldn't be able to injure that. He has a pain patch on and we will pick him up in an hour. They are checking his thyroid just to make sure since a weak thyroid can cause weak ligaments. It will be slow going but we will get there. I'm just anxious to get him home in his bed with his blanket and Tarragon. Thank you for all your prayers. Charlie is such a sweet dog and I know he appreciates it as well.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 Charlie Update

Thanks for the update! What a relief! I know it is for me so it must be HUGE for you and DH and T. Everyone will be much happier when Charlie is home. Charlie, you're going to have to take it easy for a while, even after you start to feel better. Listen to your beans when they tell you to take it easy. Those squirrels won't be too out of control while you're rehabbing. They should be hibernating anyways.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 Charlie Update

(((Melissa))) that is wonderful news that Charlie's surgery went well and the problem was caught in time, thanks to you being in tune with everything with Charlie! I know you can't wait to get him home and in his own bed. What a week this has been for you. Take good care and many healing vines for Charlie's recovery. He will have the best nurse ever and Tarragon and Turnup supervising. Hugs.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 Charlie Update

What a poor baby! Glad to hear everything went well and Charlie is out of surgery.

I'll bet you're glad that you're off work for 10 days to take care of your boys. Enjoy your time with them!

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 Charlie Update

I'm glad to hear that Charlie's surgery went well. I hope Tarragon decided to step off of the pink floor.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 +2/222 Charlie Home

Tarragon found the yellows and is headed for the blues. Yay! Charlie is home and really out of it. He has a morphine patch and is sleeping on his bed under his blanket. Tarragon is keeping his distance since Chatlie is very unsteady on 3 legs and all doped up. Tarragon is keeping a close eye on him though. It will be a rough 24 hours but it's all up from here. T will warm up soon.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 +2/222 Charlie Home

I'm glad Charlie is home! I hope he rests easy tonight and starts feeling better soon. It's ok Mr. T. Charlie will be back to normal soon.

Re: 11/17 Tarragon PMPS 302 +2/222 Charlie Home

I know you guys all have a long couple weeks ahead of you, but Charlie, Tarragon, and Turnup are seriously lucky critters to have the beans that they do! Time flies so quickly these days that this will all be a thing of the past before you know it!
