My husband gives Joey his insulin and knows he did a “fur shot” this morning. I know I’ve read often that you don’t give the second shot - wanted to confirm with this group that we shouldn’t even given a portion of his usual dose? I think I know the answer but having his sugar sky rocket today makes me feel horrible.
He was 20.0 prior to the dose attempt this morning.

Welcome to LLB. You are correct. You never give a second shot due to a fur shot. That’s because often sone got in and there is a risk of an overdose. Sorry it happened but we all do this at least once. I just looked at your ss but it needs to be updated.

What Elise said, you don't give a second shot. If you do what you think is a fur shot, the dose number, followed by FS in the units column. FS = fur shot. We are very data driven here and the fur shot makes a difference in what we might suggest for dosing. Speaking of which, it's very important when you are posting here to have an up to date spreadsheet.

Just make sure to test for ketones today.
