12 degrees F. here this morning with very high winds and about 3 inches of snow. The unseasonably warm autumn has lulled us and today was quite a shock. I decided not to climb Blue Mountain tomorrow. It's supposed to go down to 3 degrees tonight. I need a little time to "winterize".

Rusty had a pretty good day and ate much better than the last few days. As long as we are around to encourage him by holding his bowl, he manages to get the food down. Rusty has never been food-motivated and nowadays he is even less so. He spent a lot of the day on or near the radiator.

My Instant Pot cookbooks arrived and the recipes look good. They also have a lot of tips on cooking with the Instant Pot. The risotto I made yesterday was OK, but needs work! The new books both have several risotto recipes.

Wishing all a good weekend. Tomorrow we observe Armistice Day (now called Veterans' Day in the US). My father and two uncles were World War I vets. My mother was working in Manhattan when the Armistice was announced and told of thousands of people pouring out of office buildings into the streets. The newspaper pictures of that day in NYC are amazing.

BRRRRRR!!!!! I guess I shouldn't shiver at 38. Instant Pot - I used to cook lots of things in my old pressure cooker - love pot roasts cooked that way. You'll figure out lots to use it with.

Sir Rusty - beautiful day for a handsome boy. Stay warm!

HUGS Ella and Edward, headbutts to you Sir Rusty...

Sounds like perfect radiator weather. Brr! We went back to fall weather today. :) No rowing for me :( but DH and I are going over to watch the Canadian National Championship races. I'm sure it'll be inspiring and humbling. :p Wish I was going over to the island for Remembrance Day services, but DF doesn't feel like going to them any more. Too much walking. Sad - he is one of the last couple of WWII veterans on the island. Manhattan must have been amazing place to be on Armistice Day.

Thanks for visiting, guys.
@Squeaky and KT (GA) : Lyresa, I'm thinking of trying a pot roast; haven't made one in years because we mostly eat vegetarian now.
@Wendy&Neko: Wendy, enjoy the national championship races. And it sounds like your rowing season is still going strong now that the weather has warmed up again. Too bad your dad feels he has to miss the Remembrance Day services.
@carfurby: Maybe you'll get some snow soon. Take care of your cold.
