We just got back from the vet. Mo was very well behaved this time. He has been referred to a feline specialist 20 minutes away finally. This means we can talk to someone about his diabetes that actually knows what they're doing. She also put in the referral that I wanted to discuss different insulins. I'm really excited about this referral. It might take a few months to actually get an appointment though
His fructosamine level was 690. No change from when he was diagnosed. Proof that the insulin isn't working.
The vet checked that I was injecting Mo properly by shaving the back of his neck and seeing how I did it. She said it was fine, but I needed to draw back when I put the needle in to make sure I didn't get blood or air? I wasn't taught that by the other vet so we will try it. Mo likes to bite me while I inject him so we will see how that goes. But she has asked me to half his dose tonight and tomorrow morning and see how he goes just in case i've been injecting the insulin wrong this whole time. It's good that we are ruling this out anyway.
The vet was telling me about how her kitty was hit by a car last week. So devastating. She was giving Mo cuddles and kisses, it was pretty cute. He just put up with it lol.
I hope you're all doing well
