11/01 Phoebe PMPS 180/ +2.5 135

Okay. If your bf will monitor and feed after you go to sleep shoot .50. I’ll stay with you until you go to sleep. A reduction was earned with the drop under 90.

The forum is acting funky again. Maggie and her bf will take shifts and she is shooting. I told her I will stick with her until +3 and give advice for later once we see the test results. She’s shooting .50 and mixing the hc/mc food now. Get a +1 so we see what kind of food bump she gets and then a +2 and we will go from there.

Looks like she’s bouncing and you both might not have a long night after all. Get a +2 and we will know more. If she wants to eat lc is fine.

259 + 2 -

I put out a can of LC wet food - all three of them have been eating it periodically, including her (2x).

Well, she’s on the move. That’s a bug enough drop that it’s likely to be an active cycle. Please get a +3. I will see you in an hour. You doing okay?

Tired, stressed - was hoping she'd go a little slower this time - looking like not so much. She just went and ate a little more from the LC can (i'm not watching it closely and all the cats are eating from it, so I'm not positive how much she's getting).

At least I can make an educated guess that if she's given HC stuff, it helps boost her BG fairly quickly, so I'll make sure Mike's aware when he takes over...

We were planning on having an hour of sleep overlap from about +3.5 to +4.5 - that's going to be the biggest question for me at +3 (whether or not we can do that).

If you want to give her a little nc/hc now to slow her down that’s fine. You won’t need to test this much once you have data. :bighug: It is stressful at first.

Before I forget - Elise - thank you so much for sticking through this with me. I really appreciate the support and knowledge you are providing us - helps me to muppet flail a bit less :)

Give her a little mc. I have asked someone to check in on you,. I’d check again in an hour. Will your bf be taking over?
i was supposed to go to bed in a few minutes and he was going to take over in an hour, but I can stay up for one more test.

71 at +4,

Should give her HC wet to retard the drop? She didn't bottom out until +8 during the last cycle, so I'm nervous...

She is really determinedly heading lower! Yes, just a little HC to slow her down.

My boyfriend should be taking over soon - I'm going to tell him to test at +5 and see where she is - then update the SS. I'm also going to tell him to post here if she goes lower so he can get advice to get her BG up. If things go well, I don't know that he's going to be posting (other than in the SS).

I will keep eye on the SS. Will he be able to read my posts?

If Pheobe is up at +5, he should test again at +6 without feeding at +5. We want to make sure she is going up without food.
If she is flat or slightly lower at +5, to feed a little LC to help her surf.

OK. 131. That's quite a bump. Do not feed. Test in half an hour and see if she is still headed up.

131 should be coloured blue on the SS, but that can wait till tomorrow!

Bhooma - she tested at 131.

We are going to rest for an hour and test again at that point. Then if the number is roughly the same or on the way up, we will feed LC (Fancy Feast). Then I think we will pause and test at +8 and see where she's at.

If the numbers go down or do something crazy, Mike will check in for directions.

Thank you so much!

212 @ 8.5 (.5 ago). Gave tsp+ LC; ate most I think (other cat got to it).

Insulin scheduled for +3 from now. Please advise

Mike

Fed her some more LC in preparation for insulin at 9:45A with a 2-hour no-food run-up. She got a little wobbly but tested at 244.

Mike

@Sienne and Gabby (GA) are you still on to help? Mike & Maggie and the kitty Phoebe are new to FD. Looks like they gave 0.5 last night (down from 0.75 yesterday morning) - may be good to do again today?

@Bandit's Mom

For this morning, I'd stick with the 0.5u dose. It's likely that the drop into the 70s last night was due to the depot not yet catching up with the dose reduction. I would, however, be attentive since it seems like Phoebe likes to keep you on your toes.

I think I had stopped by a few days ago. Did you ever have the vet check Phoebe's "wobbliness"?

Hey All -

She got wobbly again right after she was fed her last meal and wanted to hide under the bed. She tested at 244. She's also doing a weird thing where her head keeps moving to one side like she's staring at something that isn't there. This is the first time since we've been able to test that she's had these types of symptoms while her blood sugar is rising (as opposed to when it was dropping quickly, or when it was too low). I'm frankly at a loss and will be calling the vet to see about next steps.

we are going to test her and give her .5, I think.

Could this be an allergic reaction to Lantus?

AMPS 358

Good morning. I hope you got some sleep. I don’t think this is a reaction to the insulin. I suspect something else is causing it but no idea what. I would definitely talk to your vet. Also have them email you the labs and records from the hospitalization. Not a bad AMPS. Feed her lc and get a +1 and +2.

Vet office sent her result from Monday after administering insulin (which I've added), but they didn't send me her full labs from Sunday night, so I'll also ask for them when I call about the wobbly issue.
