Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Not quite as late tonight, but then, I haven't finished and posted this yet! ;)

I didn't get an "out the door" test today because everything went wrong this morning and I was running late. I was supposed to drop off Cinco, then go in to Sacramento to have lunch with Mark and our financial adviser. Of course the herd had other plans. Sasha wasn't thrilled about eating - in fact, she didn't want anything to do with me and I had to hunt her down. Minka would not eat - not even baby food. Harvey did not want to be caught for his pills. When I tried to give Minka her squids, I had THREE bad sticks!!! Finally, the fourth time, we had a slow flow, but I was NOT going to stick her again. I finally got her to eat something and was able to give her the meds. Harvey got sacked and pilled and Sasha was located and dragged out from under the bed for her meds. Grabbed Cinco and ran, then remembered I needed to get gas!:facepalm: Got Cinco to UCD by noon, but missed the lunch part of the meeting.

Cinco finally hit blue tonight. I was a little disgusted by all that yellow, and don't even talk to me about the AMPS! :blackeye::confused:

So, anyway, I hit a bunch of pet food stores and collected some low fat, low phos foods to try with Minka. The one I finally got her to eat was one we'd had before and everyone had gotten burned out on. She ate an entire can today, and is currently working on the second can (3 oz). :):):)

Sasha only ate half her breakfast, but she ate all her dinner. The big news for her is that her dentist called me this evening to tell me the biopsies showed NO CANCER!!!

Her recheck is Oct. 19, and we'll decide then if any teeth need to be pulled to prevent a recurrence of the inflammation.

Harvey has his hoover on today. High speed all the way. :)

Cinco's blood work showed that his red cell count is still messed up. They are going to stick to the Etomidate for the rest of his radiation. His last treatment is Monday. They will check his blood again then to see if it's back to normal.

I had to put Cinco's e-collar back on him tonight because he was licking both his front legs to the point of raw skin. They had put his catheter in his back left leg. He as trying to get the bandage off of it, which he hadn't done before. So, back to the collar until the front legs heal. :(

Tomorrow is going to be a cleaning blitz, in between trips to UCD. Wish me luck!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Marilyn & Polly, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

WHEW...what a morning!! Sounds like you had no cooperation from your herd at all...but in the end, you got everything done.....except for the lunch :(

Cinco...let's stop these pink mornings....You know pink doesn't look good on you...let's stick to yellow if you absolutely can't make it to blue!

Hope Minka will continue to eat the new (old) food! Sure would make your life a lot easier!!

YEAH for NO CANCER!!!! That's just absolutely awesome!!:):):):) You certainly deserve a break!!

And YEAH for Cinco's treatments being almost done!!

What a day!! Absolutely thrilled on the NOT CANCER! My two favorite words. :joyful::joyful::joyful:

What low phos, low fat food did you find that Minka likes? I'm always in the hunt for backups for Theo.

Bummer on the collar going back on Cinco. But at least it's only two more days of UCD trips for him.

Yay for Cinco being so close to done. I'm trying to feel sad for him being in his collar but I just can't stop smiling about Sasha's news (sorry Cinco) I am doing such a big happy dance, this has made my day and then some :joyful::joyful::joyful:

What a huge relief about Sasha!! I too am wondering what low phosphorus food you got today although I bet it's higher carb. With all you have to do it's amazing you can get out of tge house before noon ever!

Thanks for checking in on us tonight, Chris, Wendy, Serryn and Elise.

Actually, the food Minka is eating today is not low phos. :( It's medium in fat and low carb - 0%. But the phos is considerably higher than I'd like. It's Avoderm Salmon Consomme. But she's eating it, and it's cat food instead of baby food, so it's progress. I got several Weruva, Tiki and some BFF to try with her. Baby steps. She used to only eat pate, but lately she's been willing to try flaked varieties, which opens up a lot of low fat/low carb/low phos possibilities. Tomorrow we'll try one of those three brands, all of which are much better in phos, and keep our paws crossed she'll like them.

@tiffmaxee, it is really, really difficult to get out before noon!! Especially since I stay up so late at night and am NOT a morning person. Some days I don't get Minka's squids and/or meds done before I have to leave with Cinco, and have to do them when I get back. Today I knew I wouldn't be home until I came home with Cinco around 5 or so, and so I HAD to get the squids and meds in. If everyone had cooperated, it would have worked out really well, but we're dealing with cats here, so......:facepalm:

Not looking forward to tomorrow and all I need to do to get the house somewhat presentable. Not clean, but at least not health department fail level. Wish me luck!

I read your condo's Tricia and just shake my head in amazement at all you do and somehow keep it all together. I bow to the goddess of coolness under fire and organization.. how do you do it all?? i would just go rapidly nuts Magellan is more than enough for me but 3 special kitties??? All bow to Tricia!

Woo hoo on No Cancer!

Sorry Cinco had to have the collar put back on. I'm glad he's almost done with his treatment. Hopefully, that will be all he needs.

I hope Minka and Sasha keep eating for you.

Sending prayers.

Ooops my bad...congrats on the no cancer and I hope the others quit or at least slow down their jerking you around they are beautiful kitties and once Magellan goes home to daddy I am thinking of adopting a special needs kitty.

I'm sorry you had such a rough start to the day, but all I can really see is the fabulous news about Sasha - woohooooo!!! I hope the new fuds work for Minka...you can always attempt a phos binder if need be. It's not ideal, of course, but it might help get her back on to cat food.

Good luck with getting through today...enjoy relaxing with your friends!!!

Yay for no cancer for Sasha! You handle it all so well, I'd never make it through half of what you do! Let us all know what fuds make the approved list, we are all always looking for new ways to tempt the kittehs to eat.

Wonderful news for Cinco! No cancer! :) :) :) Boo the "cone of shame" though. Hopefully you won't need it much longer.

You definitely got your hands full with your bunch of misfits ;) Lots of vines and purrs that they get themselves together soon so you can give yourself some rest!
