All is well in CurryLand. She continues to have her split personality of incredible sweet mixed with the kitty from hell(in temperament only...not actions). She really is so flexible and has been really easy to deal with in terms of transitioning to the new place.

Sid on the other hand needs some counseling and I, being her mom, could not ethically provide those services. Perhaps some brief, solution-oriented therapy might do the trick....no psychodynamic stuff....she doesn't need to go back into her childhood experiences..... I think the meds have worn off as well....she is a little more skiddish around the growling Curry which makes Curry growl more. And Sid is the alpha kitty and is not showing that side of herself... And she won't eat anything besides the tuna....So, will call the vet, get more meds, lock her in the bedroom during the day...and hopefully she will eat her food. I tried 4 different kinds of FF yesterday....w/ and w/o the tuna on it...Not interested. Sigh.

I thought this was yesterday's post since you have 10/5 in the Subject, so I didn't open it, at first.
Good luck with the vet today, and I hope you get some meds that will make Sid feel back to her old young self.

Yea...saw that.....sometimes I don't know what day it is.....I am oriented to person and place though. :mrgreen:

Curry! Nice look for ya. (Sorry about Sid, I hope she comes around soon. It's awful when you have a pet you can't feed!)

Poor Sid. I hope she adjusts to the new place soon and gets back to normal. Curry's looking great though!

Shoving food into both kitties this morning..

Curry to get her numbers back up.....

Sid...went ahead and did the assisted feeding trick again...She must not hate it though...She didn't struggle as much this morning and she didn't bolt to the bedroom or under the couch after...she just stayed on the table and cleaned herself.....(i didn't even get any food on her this time)

Nice numbers for Curry this morning...you are a busy mama...good luck with Sid...(it's good that she cooperates with the assisted feeding....you are doing a fantastic job!) :razz:

Curry is surfing.

Got more meds for Sid...1/4 of Mirtazapine 15mg for the next 4 days. The vet I'm seeing (not my usual vet) won't even acknowledge or validate that the issue may be psychological w/Sid....She' s really good, knows her stuff, I really respect her....Its just strange and making me a little PO'd........Sid's issue began the day we moved...her bloodwork was great according to the vet....I think Sid's being a little stubborn now....just liking the tuna...So after running to the vet before work..I chased her out from under the sofa w/my broom...poor baby...snagged her in the kitchen...gave her the pill....put her in a separate room w/water and kibble...and will now pray...or breathe or both.

Then tested Curry again who is now surfing around 60...and ran to work late...again. Geez.

Good note...the very sweet side of Curry immerged for a brief period of time this morning....She jumps on the toilet lid and meows...I bend down to her and she puts her paws on my shoulder so I can lift up and carry her around...for a short while...It was brief...

Thanks for listening to me vent this morning....

Glad to see Curry is surfing and she was loving on you today. I just love when they decide to have time to acknowledge us.

Sorry you had to break the broom out on Sid...been there, done that :smile: I hope things get better soon!

very nice day for Curry! loved the paw on the shoulder - what a cool thing. Surf well Curry!

What a challenging day for you this morning... I hope Sid settles in soon. it just get the feeling that it is all psychological, that she just hasn't yet accepted the new place. Cats can be so stubborn. Nice to that the assisted feeding was not met with complaints.

Curry is looking very good! I love the comic, it does seem like Sid needs to get on that couch! I hope she settles in soon, hopefully the new course of meds will get her eating and keep her eating. At least she allowed to you to assist feed her without protest, that's good!

And thanks for the information on the book....went to Amazon and bought it...will arrive tomorrow.....It looked good....and had a section on the feeding as well..

Hope you can relax at work...LMHO...you already put in a full day this morning. And don't ~~we should really call ourselves Ventors Anonymous here, right? We understand. you are doing a great job...!! Hope you are enjoying the new place! (that broom handle might be a convenient way to tap on the ceiling when they get too loud!! LOL) You and your broom...many uses! :mrgreen:

Is it ok to say I am laughing here. I am only beginning to learn all that you are going thru Tena but I love the humor how you explain it all. I have this vivid picture in my head. And I can so empathize with all you are going thru. We have alot going on at home and somedays we feel like we've worked a full shift before going to work. :shock:

So hoping things will settle down for you and that your kitty starts to eat without meds soon and that your loving girl shows her other personality all the time soon!

I realize that during the past few days since the move the only things I've been doing w/my cats are: feeding, poking, shooting, assisted feeding, and having minimal quality time together....just petting them. Ummmm. I'm thinking both of them deserve a little more of that right now.
So I'm prescribing more quiet time w/them.....


And a Sid update.....checked on her this afternoon....food was still in the bowl......then looked when I got home...both water and food were gone....and so is Sid....she's pissed at me right now for putting her in the bedroom all day and is hiding....At least she ate the kibble...I did put a little tuna and juice on it...But it was mostly kibble..... Breathing a sigh of relief...hopefully she can maintain this....
 
SIDNEY ATE THE KIBBLE OUT OF MY HAND....WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!! YIIIIPPPPEEEEEEE!!!

She wouldn't eat it out of the bowl....she use to do this once in a blue moon...Like she was needing some extra, special attention....

One small step for Sidney, One giant leap for Kittykind.

Yay for Sid! Good girl, eating out of mama bean's hand. :-D I hope this is the beginning of her settling in.

tena...i gotta agree on loving the gentle humor you use to vent...if that's venting then what i do must qualify as raging!
