Hope Max starts perking back up and finds a food that agrees with him. Some home cooked food sounds tasty, hope Max appreciates the effort in finding something palatable for him.

Feel better Max and keep making those deposits at the sandbox Bank!

Thanks. He was licking away and making lots of noise trying to get the food left from last night but for some reason a lot of tge food was still there. I'm not sure what is the issue. He atevhis Gerbers and came in to me and is still here purring. He ate a lot less yesterday and I'm afraid to weigh him!

No change with my mom. She doesn't have enough energy to walk so they use the wheelchair to take her to the bathroom. She's been sleeping a large part of the night in the hospital bed which helps her breathing. Her legs are still swollen. We will get labs back today to see if any of the fluid has come off from around her heart. Another thing I'm dreading based on how she looks.

I'm definitely going to need another root canal. If I chew on the tooth it lets me know it's not happy. Then to top off the bad news I now have osteoporosis in my left hip and the doctor wants me to start medication. I don't know about that because my pharmacist cousin told me years ago they don't build strong bones, you can break your femur for no reason and if you need dental implants they may not take. I don't like this. It's hereditary I suspect because I've exercised for much of my adult life. I'm going to start doing more walking the stairs and treadmill a couple days a week to see if that helps.

Elise you sure have a lot going on, :( when things get like that I have to go to my virtual happy place;) only way to get thru each minute.
Praying for you and your DM:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Ouch on the root canal:eek: oh if we could have just one good day:arghh:.....
Glad Max is wearing denim today:cool::cool::cool::cool:

No lb deposit today. Guess he's becoming an every other day guy. I just hope he doesn't skip two days again.

Thinking of you all and sending more prayers and positive vibes, Elise. You've got an awful lot on your plate; I feel for you.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Mogs
.

Elise, have you tried a pat of unsalted butter or olive oil or coconut oil? When Bubs gets backed up the coconut oil always gets him moving, 1 tsp and he loves it!

Oh, dear, you do have a lot on you shoulders! I'm glad Max seems content and purring and was at least interested in eating. Sending lots of appy and poo vines (sorry my dancing poo emoticon didn't show up yesterday. Don't know what that's about).

I'm doubling the usual vines, prayers and hugs. :bighug::bighug:

Even more prayers from us.

I agree...I would research this quite well before starting those meds. Don't quote me because I've never researched osteoporosis in and of itself, but while researching other "ailments", I vaguely remember seeing that osteoporosis may be linked to something like a Vitamin D or magnesium deficiency or something along those lines (if I remember correctly, both are needed to help your body properly process calcium or something like that)....something to look into before committing to a lifetime of potentially troublesome drugs.

@Amy&TrixieCat My vitamin D level was low last December so I'm taking 1000 of it. She wants me to get it rechecked which I willl do. Apparently the meds are taken for 3 years now. Many were on it for years before they realized that was not a good thing. I'll likely start doing weights religiously and treadmill/stairs and cut spin to 4 days. I'll had balance exercises too but I'm not so sure I'll take medication.

You have a lot on your plate at the moment....
I am so sorry you DM is not well. Sending lots of vines and positive thoughts to her.
I hope Max will start eating better for you.....it is such a worry when they won't eat! Sending eating vines to him.
And now you have to have a root canal and deal with osteoporosis.......you are really going through a bad patch at the moment :bighug:. I can empathise with you as I feel I have just come out is a bad patch in my life....antijinx.
Sending vines and hugs your way.

Not sure which meter is right. With meter variance they are about the same if one is high and the other low. Neither meter is the one I use primarily but either way a decent PMPS.

I tested low last year, too (apparently something like 80% of the population has a deficiency because we all spend too much time indoors now.) I was at 17 and the bottom end of the normal range is 30! I read that optimal is 50. I have yet to get retested myself, but I actually take between 5000 and 10,000 a day. All of the strange symptoms I was having (palpitations, tingling feet, facial numbness, shoulder knots, etc) disappeared once I was going on the supplement (plus magnesium) for a couple months...I was always skeptical of supplements until I experienced this complete turn-around. I keep telling myself I need to get outside more for the "real" Vitamin D, but I always get so caught up in stuff inside. I need to change that habit! Just my 2 cents but I would definitely try to go as naturally as possible!
