My Bailey is just one of the numerous nighttime surfers on this board, and each time she decides to test out the waves, experienced beans give up their sleep to help me get through it. I am eternally grateful, and one of the ways I mean to express that gratitude it to make this public apology and commitment.

During last night's surf, a gentle suggestion was made to set an alarm and get some sleep. Tired and overly confident, I replied that I would have no trouble staying up. I do stay up often, as Bailey's spreadsheet will demonstrate, but I underestimated how much the stress of worrying during a surf episode would affect me, and I fell asleep despite my best efforts. I caused dedicated beans to lose sleep, and I risked my Bailey regressing and possibly missing a dive in her BG because I thought I could stay awake for another hour.

Please forgive me for sacrificing your valuable sleep time. Part of my hypo preparation will now include setting up an alarm that I will place across the room so that I have to get up to turn it off. Hopefully, I will never make this same mistake again.

Thank you for your dedication to our furbabies and for being so unbelievably patient because I suspect I am not the first person to fall asleep and leave you wondering. Like many others here, I know that you all helped me to avoid a possible hypo event based on vet instructions, which leaves me forever in your debt. :bighug:

PS-
Trying to figure out how to bribe Bailey into surfing during the day for a change:)

You are absolutely not the first and won't be the last!! Some night in the future, you'll be there to help some newbie and you'll sacrifice your sleep to stay on and help them!! That's how it works around here!

setting up an alarm that I will place across the room so that I have to get up to turn it off

This is also a well-used idea.....some people set up several just to make sure!!…..or there's always an alarm clock like this "Sonic Alert Sonic Bomb Extra-Loud Dual Alarm Clock with Red Flashing Alert Lights and Powerful Bed Shaker"!!

Or Clocky, the Original Runaway Alarm Clock on Wheels ;););););)

I was just getting up so no worries.
It can get very exhausting. Glad bailey is ok, sorry she is bouncing.

Night night.

You guys are so understanding and so very much appreciated.
Sweet dreams Gill.:)

Lol! I loved these alarm clocks. This one can be for all of us. Bailey, the dog, and me chasing the alarm clock at 4am!!
For now, I will have to settle with boring old fashioned alarm clocks, which I do have.

A little mellow cha-cha surf mood music cant hurt
I will try that tomorrow, on the sly. She'll never know that I have turned the tables on her;)

She's still dropping so who knows what her plans are for tonight. Such a troublemaker.:cat:

Oh, it for sure was not the first time it's happened, nor even the hundredth! The thing that reassured me was that Bailey was trending up, and although there was no guarantee that would continue, it was a good sign. No one questions your committment, Rosie, and we've all been where you are now.

That said, Bailey, you get down from that trampoline. Safely and slowly, please!!
