My Bailey is just one of the numerous nighttime surfers on this board, and each time she decides to test out the waves, experienced beans give up their sleep to help me get through it. I am eternally grateful, and one of the ways I mean to express that gratitude it to make this public apology and commitment.
During last night's surf, a gentle suggestion was made to set an alarm and get some sleep. Tired and overly confident, I replied that I would have no trouble staying up. I do stay up often, as Bailey's spreadsheet will demonstrate, but I underestimated how much the stress of worrying during a surf episode would affect me, and I fell asleep despite my best efforts. I caused dedicated beans to lose sleep, and I risked my Bailey regressing and possibly missing a dive in her BG because I thought I could stay awake for another hour.
Please forgive me for sacrificing your valuable sleep time. Part of my hypo preparation will now include setting up an alarm that I will place across the room so that I have to get up to turn it off. Hopefully, I will never make this same mistake again.
Thank you for your dedication to our furbabies and for being so unbelievably patient because I suspect I am not the first person to fall asleep and leave you wondering. Like many others here, I know that you all helped me to avoid a possible hypo event based on vet instructions, which leaves me forever in your debt.

Trying to figure out how to bribe Bailey into surfing during the day for a change
