First of all, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who chimed in on my post that ran from Sunday to yesterday. I can't even begin to express gratitude for the outpouring of both support and ideas to help out Boots.
Here's the latest: we stopped the cyproheptadine (last dose was 8am 10/30). We gave Cerenia and 2-3mg ondansetron 8PM 10/30, and gave another 2-3mg ondansetron 8AM this morning. I also gave him his first pinch of egg yolk powder just a little while ago. The SEB powder arrived today, so we'll try that later today hopefully.
This is what we've found with those changes:
It may not be perfect, but it's progress.
I'm just glad that he SEEMS better today. Acting much more like himself, and hasn't spent much time if any today under the bed, which he had been a lot, which is out of character for this social guy.
We'll keep up the ondansetron and cerenia, and add in the digestive supplements (egg yolk, SEB) to see if that keeps things moving better. I'd rather throw everything we've got at him now and start peeling things back one at a time if he stays improved.
My spirits are much improved today, and it's in no small part thanks to you all.
Happy Halloween!

This is what we've found with those changes:
- his first feeding after the ondansetron last night was much improved - he ate all of his 1/4 can (.75oz) and we gave him a bit more which he also ate
- his meals today have been also much better. still not eating a ton, but EATING and seems eager
- less vocal - normal vocalizations today, especially around the treat cabinet in the kitchen, which is, of course, normal!
- less agitated - he's been up and about more (still sleeping a good bit, but so are the other kitties), but doesn't seem as fussy as he had been - less vocal, and seems to be more easily able to settle down
- he made a nice poop yesterday afternoon and two small nuggets this morning, so at least he's still moving stuff along, though is likely still backed up
It may not be perfect, but it's progress.
