9/5 - Pookey

The vet was here this week and we got new labs. Phosphorus has come down from 6.0 to 5.2. Creatinine has increased from 2.2 to 2.9 and BUN has increased from 38 to 41. He's also gained almost 1.5 lbs.

Happy about the phosphorus. Seems like the Weruva is working. Not thrilled about the increase in crea/BUN in the last 4 months. He's actually had higher creatinine before (Nov 2025) and it came down, so I'm wondering if he was maybe a little dehydrated at this draw. Weird about the weight gain. I'll have to work on that, he doesn't need to be almost 18 lbs. They want me to catch urine and come back for blood pressure check.

Happy Halloween weekend!

I'm happy about the lower phosphorus values and good luck with the rest of the labs + getting handsome Mr. Pookey on a diet! I've been chasing Moonie around the yard hoping that it'll burn calories for both of us to lose some weight 🤣
Literally?? Haha I love that. I think action #1 will be to cut back on the steak, chicken, milk, etc. that I share with him from my dinners…

Literally. I figured... why not kill two birds with one stone? I can't be a hypocrite and tell Moonie only SHE has to lose some weight 🤣

It's the same way that I told Parker we have to do his GLP-1 shots during Moonie's testing and insulin poke time when he starts them - so she knows she's not alone!

I wish you luck in resisting Pookey's adorable and likely persistent yowls when he realizes that you're no longer sharing!

Glad his phosphorus has come down. And I hope the other values were due to dehydration. Did the vet suspect that could be the case?

I hope Pookey will be willing to give up some extra calories and treats he enjoys.
Thanks for updating us on how he is doing.
You’re so lucky to have a home visit vet. I wish we had that 💕
Happy Halloween 🎃 Tim 🥰

Thanks Staci! Yea, she mentioned it a little. Hope you and the family had a nice Halloween!

Also happy his phosphorus came down. Hopefully the other values were due to dehydration and hopefully they will be done around the next round of tests.
Good luck with the no sharing gig. I know it's hard. Nestle used to beg for human food and it was one of the hardest things to say no to.

Thanks for sharing some photos with us. I love his freckled lil pink nose. Please give it lots of kisses 💋 😘
