Good Morning Everyone
Checks had a good night, well, until +5.5, then the bean decided to use data, to determine it was okay to feed and go back to sleep.
Morning is normal routine, breffis, more breffis, annoy mom, take nap.
Experimenting today with leaving food out to free feed, because I'll be gone all day tomorrow. Hopefully he will be green again this cycle, and I can see what he'll do.
With no spot checks to tell me to feed, I need to hope he'll keep himself safe.


later: Okay, he's at 61@+3, and lazing on couch, making no attempt to go eat. Hmmm, can I trust him to stay safe? *gulp*

Looks like he did eat. The dish is on a table next to the couch, so he's gotta know it's there, anyway.
I need to find out if he's eating without prompting. I cannot be here tomorrow.
50's seems to be his nadir last 3 cycles, so far, but then, I was here to monitor.

I think what you are doing, leaving food out and monitoring to see if he eats to bring himself up, is a GREAT idea!

I know Tinkles doesn't look for food due to his BG unless he is dropping fast, or is down in the 30s. :shock: I have given him a little MC early in the cycle in order to boost his #s a little before he drops, and that works for us. I also have put out a LOT of LC food right before I leave, which he usually eats right away and that boosts him too. Both of those strategies tend to make him run higher for that cycle, but it keeps him safe and that is more important. Remember that Tinkles is a BIG eater, that makes it easier for us! But I can't count on him eating mid cycle if no one is there, he tends to sleep the whole time! I'm not saying this what you should do, just sharing info in case it helps you (or someone else).

Nice numbers! Checkers is looking really great the last few cycles! What you are doing seems to be working well. :-D

I'm very pleased with today's numbers, so far. He ate when he felt like it, and brought himself back up.

Wonderful green surf! :thumbup Can you send Checkers over to teach Tinkles how to do that? :roll:

I'm working on closing the pool today, I'm a little late this year and the wind and leaves are complicating my project..grrrr! I know rain is heading our way tomorrow, looks like I will be finishing in the rain. :YMSIGH:

Checkers must be feeling good at these lower numbers. Earlier, he was zooming around the house, like his tail was on fire, and vocalizing. It was so out of character for him, that I was actually scared for a minute.
Then I saw the object of his goofiness....a birdseed moth, he was trying to catch. :lol:
Then he hid in his cube, and ambushed his little brother, when he made the mistake of strolling by. :lol:
 
Absolutely beautiful cycle, Barb, and he fed himself perfectly...so happy for you guys! And a great PMPS, yay!

What I meant was have Checkers teach Tinkles to graze...eat a little here and there. Tinkles only knows how to inhale every morsel in sight! :roll: I can get him to surf, as long as I dole out the food a bite at a time!

Go Checkers! And playing too, isn't it great to see him feeling so good? I love when they hide and pounce on the unsuspecting victim! :lol:
