Woke up this morning to the sound of Esse crashing around in some cardboard boxes I had emptied and put in the hallway for later removal. Annoying, but I also take any independent play as a win.

Why do they love cardboard boxes so much. Same thing here, as soon as a box is empty there's a cat in it haha. Nestle can literally spend hours and hours just napping in the box.
As annoying as it is being woken up, it's also good Esse is active and playful.

Nestle can literally spend hours and hours just napping in the box.

The only dedicated "cat bed" we have (aside from his cat tree, I guess) is this Costco box. We got it around Easter LAST year and he loves it too much, we can't take it away. I tried putting a blanket in there for some cushion and he stopped using it, so I took it out. Just an empty box with a couple toys in it.

That's a really good box. Nestle would love it
so I'm not surprised Esse uses it as a bed.
I also find it funny what it says on the box haha

The rats, too. The smaller the box, the happier the rats are. It's not uncommon to find multiple rats smushed in a box.

It is colloquially referred to as the ham box, lol. He is the ham.

Oh I absolutely love this. Animals are so wonderful and showing us we can live in unison and peace no matter what the species. Humans have so much to learn from animals.
