Yesterday

Ebby was so cute last night. At about 2:00 a.m. she started darting across all of the upstairs rooms, meowing a very deep playful meow. It of course woke us both up, but I love to be woken up by that sound. She then sprinted across the bedroom and our bed and ran into the testing room, so she got a test and treat. She came to bed, but at around 7:00 she did the same thing all over again. So, she must have been feeling very good. Sadly, we are back to bouncing today...payback for last night I guess.

I have not been in touch with Wellness yet. Their reply email did not address the moldy food question, but rather just instructed me to call them. When I called, the automated message said the staff is away on a training session...so I will try to call tomorrow. For now, I am just going to feed the chicken and avoid the turkey from that batch. Both of our kitties seem ok, so I'm sure it was an isolated thing....at least I hope.

Awww...don't you just love those playful nights? Being a little sleepy the next day isn't that hard to live with, especially when you know your kitty is feeling so good!

What a cop out on the email! Seems like they could at least have said something like "we're sorry and we're concerned"

Hi Melissa,
I'm glad both your kitties are OK.
I am interested in what Wellness has to say about the mold, so please keep us updated.
I would definitely ask what part of canning process caused this and how they are going to improve it.
Ingredients? Vacuuming process? Heating process?
If I get a moldy food, I would not let them get away with a coupon for a free case. :-x

Hi Mariko, I will ask them about what causes something like this. I have a lot of mixed feelings about wellness....the food is good for our diabetics, but between the inconsistency and now this I am beginning to have a lot of concerns with it. Probably the same with other brands though...I don't know. I will for sure keep everyone updated.

Looks like I'm staying up a little longer. +2 56! 200 points in 2 hours...I'm already sad about the bounce that is sure to follow this.
