Last condo
It's been so busy at work, I never even got around to posting a condo yesterday. Little Iris is still not wanting to eat. She ate a few bites on Wednesday night, but that was it. She is refusing to even try anything on her own. After talking to her vet yesterday, we have added an appy stimulant. I am still giving fluids (since she is also not drinking on her own) and I am syringe feeding her for now. I picked up some AD food from the vet.
This morning, she actually walked up to the food bowls and sniffed them - she didn't eat, but I will take that as a good sign. She still got a Cerenia injection yesterday, but doesn't seem nauseous today (no more drooling, lip smacking). I wish I knew what happened. Her incision looks great. She doesn't seem to be in pain (and she is still on pain meds - just in case). Her breathing isn't any worse than it was before. They have taken x-rays and done an ultrasound. All perfectly normal. Maybe the anesthesia was just too much for a body to handle.
She has been extra sweet and cuddly and has now taken to sleeping under the covers even with me. Her sister Flora is starting to get pretty desperate with her best buddy out of commission. She has been trying to get everyone else to play with her, but none of my big boys have any desire to race around the house at top speed, flying over furniture and jumping from cat tree to cat tree.
Mandarin has been doing a great job working the 3 units and has made it to the lagoon every day for the last three days. I just wish that he would even out a bit. Right now, he bounces to the 300s during the day and then takes a dive in the middle of the night, only to go back up the next morning. Walter spent the day on the beach yesterday.
I'll try to catch up on some condos. Luckily, I'll be home for another two hours before I have to run to campus. Another busy day today and then I have to finish up a grant over the weekend.... and all I want to do is take a nap wit this little girl:
