Max had a good follow up visit yesterday at NCSU. Vet said his exam looked good, his labs were normal with exception of hyperglycemia of course. Max continues with a little nausea and occasional vomiting. Vet said most likely has to do with his pancreatitis aggravated by the hyperglycemia. He continues with Cerenia and Zofran as needed. The FreeStyle Libre was placed yesterday. I do like it as it gives me a lot of data especially through the night. I'm not sure if I should start using those numbers here until we get him back on a good dose so I'm still using the Relion Prime for his data here on his spreadsheet. I will need to find out from someone when the best time to use the data from the Libre is, as the numbers are different. The Libre reads a little higher. @Wendy&Neko since I'm taking your advice on dosing and we are still working his way back to a good dose, what are your recommendations for when to change to the Libre for data on his spreadsheet? I can continue to monitor with the Relion as needed. I have plenty of test strips left. I think I will wait a little longer to switch to the Levemir so I'm not making too many changes at once and we will know more about what dose to start him with. I have it here, but guess it will keep for a long time in the refrigerator? Max is a very tired boy today. We didn't expect an all day long visit again, but they were very busy and still short staffed there at NCSU. Caregivers are still not allowed inside the building, so I went shopping. A little retail therapy never hurts. Have a wonderful day.
