Chester and Robbie.....watch out....the Vampire cometh.....and it's Halloween soon as well.

So Jaye....when you test your dog.....same place....on the ear......or somewhere else....how does Robbie deal with the testing?

Hope you see some blues today Mr. Chester.

No, I don't test on the ear with my dog. I tried it a couple of times but dogs apparently have much more sensitive ears. Robbie went ballistic. He's a drama queen on the best of days, but I got the message from him right away that ears were a no-no.

I actually test him on the inside of his upper lip. I turn it back, pat it with a paper towel to dry it and then poke, wait for the beep and reward him with chicken breast. He doesn't mind it at all because dogs have very, very few nerve endings in the upper lips. Trust me, if Robbie minded it, the neighborhood would know but he eagerly goes to his testing spot when it's time.

I suspect I'm going to have to break down and buy the 5 compartment autofeeder. We have a two compartment one, but I think that Chester is eating late in his cycle if his numbers and his going from empty bowl to empty bowl looking for food are any indications. With the 5 compartment one, at least I can have it turn to an empty chamber 2-3 hours before meal time. Hubby won't be happy...
 
Jaye - for the auto feeder, check on Amazon - I got one for a really good price there a few years ago, less than half of what they were asking for it in the pet food chain store.
