Overall, she's not doing bad on the bounce from eating the contraband yesterday. Knew she was going to be up a bit high as I felt her ears this morning before I poked.

On another note... I need a lot of prayers for one of her sons, Jr. Mint. I had to take him to the vet this morning for a UTI, and an eye infection. I have ointment for the eye, and he's on antiobiotics (of course) for the UTI. If the antibiotics don't work for him, and he seems like he's in pain, he'll have to have a catheter put in for a few days, which means a vet stay. We'll find a way of affording that if it comes down to it. Poor baby. He's such a sweet little guy, too. He was so quiet on the way there, and back. Didn't utter a sound at all. Even during the visit. Didn't make a peep. She gave him an antibiotic shot while we where, managed to squeeze a few drops out of his bladder, and checked his white blood cell count, which was naturally high due to the infection. He weighs 13.45 lbs. Good weight for his size. I talked to him there and back.

I am sorry to hear about your boy....he must feel terrible with that infection going on. While taking the ABs it is good to give a probitic too Angela. I use the Fortiflora from Amazon. I sprinkle it on too pf the food...it should be given a few hours after you give the ABs. The ABs wipe out all bacteria, but along with the bad, the friendly bacteria is destroyed too. So, we replenish the friendly bacteria by using probiotics. Some kitties will eat a little plain yogurt...a good yogurt with live cultures like Stoneyfield organic or something like that.
I hope he will feel better soon Angela....sending healing vines to Jr. Mint....

Not a bad place for Blackie to start the day.

Poor Jr. Mint! I hope the infections clear quickly and he's OK with the ABs. If you have a Whole Foods nearby, ReNew Ultimate is also a good probiotic. It's found in the refrigerated supplement case.

+4 91 - 2 turkey (or chicken.. I made some chicken yesterday, and put it in with the turkey) bites given

No whole foods anywhere close here, unfortunately. Not even a place to get the probiotics. We're rural.

Sorry your guy is feeling a little poorly. Any health food store or vitamin shop like GNC, or maybe even your grocery pharmacy isle should have probiotic capsules you can scrape a little dust out of. : )

Great number for Blackie at +4!! Hope Jr. Mint feels better...I echo Pat's suggestion. I always up the acidophilus when kitties have ABs.

Knew she'd be going up. I had to make a store run for more litter, and 2 small bags of food (1 dog and 1 cat), and some cereal for DH. I was gone about 1.5 hours tops. Came back to find Blackie licking her chops. Thought she had just groomed herself a lot. Nope. Turned out, Jr. Mint let loose of his meal from earlier this afternoon.

Jr. Mint's in discomfort, however, he drank water, and has eaten a very small amount of wet food. Tried to tempt him with some dry, but no go. Not yet anyway. He appears to be leaking more, which is good. I was concerned about the color of the urine, as it was pinkish, and called the vet about that. Turned out to be a normal thing for cats with UTI. He's moving around, but very slowly obviously. He's on Baytril, which is to be given once a day. I contacted the vet about starting him on it this evening. She said it was alright, despite the fact that she gave him a shot this morning. I WAS going to ask DH to help me with giving it to him, however, I read up on it, and found out that it's to be given only once a day. My decision is changed and I'm going to stick to the once a day plan only. Don't need further complications.

What do Blackie's ears feel like when she's high? Is it like this routinely when she's high?

So sorry about the little guy - hope he feels better soon.
