It's a quiet Caturday morning here. The cats were nice and gentle, but firm, about waking us up for breakfast. ;-) FF Salmon's on the menu. Clare's all 5s and all is well.

We have a gathering of friends tonight, a potluck, and I'm making "dessert shots" for the first time. My own creation: prickly pear syrup with elderberry liquor and a splash of orange juice and extract; coffee/chicory ice cream; chocolate brickle crumbles; orange curd; whipped cream; and crushed cocoa almonds sprinkled on top. Small but intense. My DH, who's actually the best cook in the family and my best critic, declared it "A Winner!" Now I just have to figure out how to make them at least partly ahead, for 17.

I bet we have some great cooks on the Board, so if anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful. I'm new at creative cookery, but trainable! :-D

Come on down, Clare. Perhaps she just wants you to enjoy the gathering. I'm sure what you make will be delicious. Have a nice time.

Clare, go for yellow. And then for blue. Nice festive colors for the party tonight.

No cook, here. 'Cept for the chicken I bake for the critters. Me? If it doesn't come in a bag or box and can't be ready in 5 minutes or less, I don't eat it!

Enjoy tonight. Sounds delicious.

Hey Clare, what you doing up there? Pink is not a good party color. Blue is much better. C'mon down!

That sounds awfully complicated to me, Georgette. I'm sure it will turn out delicious. You are much more ambitious than I . I just do jello shots - pina colada, mai tai and margarita are my most popular ones. Have fun tonight!
