Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty didn't want to get out of the blankets this morning. It's 32 degrees outside and windy (not great bicycling weather, so I'm glad I cancelled the ride). After his great day yesterday, capped off by his vigorous playing yesterday evening, Rusty is starting out today with exactly the same number as last night's PMPS. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket. He woke us up an hour early and then finished his nighttime food before coming back to bed. This morning he had a good test, shot, breakfast (first sitting), lung treat, and once again prefers his little bed by the radiator to a schmooze. I took the opportunity to read a chapter in my book.

We all enjoyed the first game of the World Series last night, especially since the Red Sox won (Edward has switched allegiance and now is rooting for the Red Sox, too). Can't wait until game 2 tonight. Today will be a day of odds and ends and a walk later. It's senior day at the health-food store (15% off every Thursday), so I'll be shopping there today. The sun just came out for a brief look around. They had a foot of snow in the Tug Hill Plateau ("lake effect" snow off Lake Ontario), but here in the Adirondacks it is just cold and only flurries are predicted.

Wishing all a good day, Healing vines to all who need them,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144

Nice blue start for Rusty. Brrrrr. I don't blame Rusty for wanting to stay in the nice warm covers. Those odds and ends days are a necessity. Woohoo on the game yesterday. Have a great day Ella!!

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144, +5.5 36

Hi again,
It looks like Rusty will get another reducie tonight (a shave to a regular 1.5 units). I can't ignore three numbers in the 30s on three consecutive days, even! He finished breakfast, got his test, and has eaten a good deal of his lunch. Now he's chillaxin' in his basket.

We are having snow flurries interspersed with sunshine and it is very windy. We've been having fun watching the chipmunk on the bird feeder stuffing his cheek pouches with sunflower seeds. His cheeks are twice the size of his body. Chip Chip is not going to starve this winter! After he stuffs his cheeks, he runs over to the stone wall, where the den is, to store the seeds. Meanwhile the chickadees are busy getting seeds and taking them to their storage places. We have a migrating group of White Throated Sparrows passing through today (my favorite bird).

Whoooooo Hooooooooo! Lagoon Meister! That's the way to deal w/ the dire beasties! Have a great day and get lots done so nothing to distract you from the game tonight!

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144, +5.5 36

Brrr, sounds like a good day to stay under the covers for sure! We had a few snowflakes in the air yesterday but it didn't amount to much.

That's a lot of numbers in the thirties lately . . . I think Rusty wanted to make sure you gave him a reduction.

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144, +5.5 36

Morning Ella and Rusty,

Guess Rusty earned a doscrease for sure.

Maybe he can talk to Cardinal who after almost two years OTJ is back on Lantus as of Tuesday. Cardinal is licking his wounds from last night's loss of his namesake in that game.

And please, please keep the snowflakes up the north country. Not ready for snow yet.

Congrats on the reducie. Go Rusty. I hope he gives you a nice, safe surf tonight so you can enjoy the game.

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144, +5.5 36, +9 51, PMPS 60; reducie

Rusty got his reducie tonight: 1.5 units (2.22mm on digital calipers, Terumo syringe). He had a good day with napping next to the radiator, getting his combings, eating his fuds, and we even got in our schmooze late this afternoon.

We'll see how he does this evening. Rusty is on Lev., so onset won't begin until after +4. Hopefully he'll rise a bit by then.

Thanks for checking on us,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. to Claudia: Sorry for Cardinal that he had to start insulin again after 2 years and that the Cardinals lost the first game. You must tell him that in baseball it's not over 'till it's over! So which team are YOU rooting for??
I'm glad you don't have our weather tonight. If you did the game would be messy. At the moment we have cold, driving sleet!

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144, +5.5 36, +9 51, PMPS 60; reducie

Careful in the lagoon tonight Rusty - no need to go any lower. Congrats on that reducie.

Cold driving sleet? Time to snuggle under a quilt with a kitty and watch a game.

Re: 10/24 Rusty AMPS 144, +5.5 36, +9 51, PMPS 60; reducie

Glad you reduced! He was ready wasn't he? :-D :-D :-D His SS is looking great.

I can't believe it is getting so cold there already. Tobey said he would come visit but it's too cold unless you keep the stove going all the time :-D but he sends big love.

Thanks for visiting, everyone,

Red Sox lost! Rusty is running around downstairs, batting his bell balls. We're turning in. He had a great day today.

Brrrr! I'm with Rusty - I'd sleep by the radiator in that cold weather, too!

Congratulations on the reducie & good numbers  , but sorry about the game, Ella.

Hope you've got some thick comforters there! Have a good night's sleep!
