Phoenix hasn't fallen below 100 BG even though I increased his insulin from 10 units to 10.5 units. I believe I should increase his insulin again this morning. I have always been scared to increase more than .5 units at a time but I think I should have listened to your advice and increased Phoenix's dose by 1 unit.

Do you think it would be okay to increase his insulin dose by 1 unit in the morning or should I play it safe and just increase by .5 units? His AMPS is not for another 6 hours.

Hope the increase brings you some better numbers, Susan. I must have missed something here. Does Phoenix have asthma? What is causing the coughing? Pancreatitis doesn't cause coughing does it?

Hello Summer,
I am very sorry to hear that you lost Susie. That is so sad. Forgive me for not realizing you had lost Susie. I don't have a lot of spare time to check in on the forum unless I have a question. I have more time in the winter when I don't have so much yard work to do.

Phoenix has been diagnosed with allergies and takes Zyrtec for them. He has had 2 asthma attacks this year but is not on any medication for it. The coughing is caused by his allergies. I don't think pancreatititis causes coughing. Phoenix has only had one pancreatititis attack. That was when they found out that he had diabetes. I really hope he doesn't get it again. I give him raw pancreas just as a preventative measure.

I hope you have a good day and again forgive me for not realizing you had lost Susie.

Please don't feel badly about not knowing about Susie. Lots of us get busy in our lives and don't always look at other people's post. No forgiveness is needed. Thank you for the sentiment.

You might want to put "allergies" in your signature. It helps people to understand everything your kitty is dealing with. All I saw was the pancreatitis. I'm happy to hear he has only had one attack. Raw pancreas? Wow, what animal is it from? I have never heard of that before. I sure learn a lot on this site. Hope he doesn't have to deal with the allergies all year, Susan.
