She loves to throw me for a loop. 72? Glad I am home!

Sorry I haven't been on in so long. Work has been crazy! I finally updated my SS, I feel so much better now!

My little friend threw up yesterday, I'm not sure if we gave her too many "treats" and it upset her stomach. I gave her chicken and a little hc in the morning and my hubby gave her deli ham in the afternoon. I'm not sure why he gave her ham, we don't normally give her ham but deli turkey instead. I think we are going to lay off treats for a while.

Talk soon!

ham? ham is pork right? piggy? pork? lol,
yea ham is pork, I'm not a pork person, as you can tell. ~O) need more of this.

And I've come across some posts on the board, that it is not advisable to give pork to kitties.
which explain why you don't really see pork flavour in cat foods.
if I can find it I will link it for you.(EDIT to ADD: I'm still looking, lol)

but no more ham for Savannah, k?
keep in mind too, full moon was yesterday, and I'm seeing a few kitties from yesterday's condo's who tossed up a nice gift for their beans
I'm still waiting for mine here.
but no more ham right DH? lol

have a great day DD!

Looking good Savannah! Very nice start to the day.

Emma threw up last night too, but she seems fine. She seemed fine right afterwards, and was looking for more food. So maybe it WAS the full moon!

alright, don't have any links for ya, but found some info on ham and pork.

because deli meats can be high in sodium and nitrites, it can be harmful if given in large quantities and frequently.

ECID (every cat is different), I do see some beans give a little ham as a treat on occasion, and that ok, "know thy cat" and ECID applies here.
plus deli hams can be sweetened with sugars and chemicals and could upset tummies and cause diarrhea, not to mention spike the BG if sugar is in there.

Also, according to Dr Lisa, pork is ok, and should be cooked and not given raw "due to parasite issues"

Great looking numbers!

I think it's Purina D/M that actually contains pork by-products (ugh for the by-products!). My civvie, George loved ham. After a bout of a viral infection, it was the one thing that would stimulate his appetite. I do think you need to be sure what's in it (e.g., sugar) if you're using it as a treat. I'd lean more toward boiled ham than roasted providing it's not a treat that upsets Savannah's stomach. FWIW, I can't feed Gabby beef. It's a sure way to get her to puke.

aww no more deli ham for Savannah. My kitties love deli meat too. But its a rare treat for cats and humans at my house.
Savannah's number is fantastic though. Hope you two have a great day
