10/21- Is Chip in or going into remission?

Possibly. You need two weeks under 100. We usually take the dose down gradually in .25 increments until to 0.1 or a drop dose. At this point I would say this is day 3 of a food trial. Let me discuss with a few others because Chip is not following the play book and one of us will get back to you. For now feed only low carb. Test before feeding morning and night. If over 100, feed and test again in 2-3 hours. If green no extra tests needed.

Looking good! I hope you'll get some feedback soon about an OTJ trial soon. Jude did this. He was a steroid-induced diabetic, on SLGS, and went into remission within about a month. He later came out of remission, but we enjoy about six months being OTJ. Good luck!!

It looks like getting rid of dry food a week ago has made a huge difference in Chip's insulin needs. As it often does. I agree with Elise (@tiffmaxee ) that this could be considered a food trial. Do try feeding several small meals in the AM and PM. If he still looks good in a couple days, post again and if he's still looking good, someone can give you the OTJ trial instructions.
