there was a test strip on his little "treat" plate, which blended in well and I didn't see it until He was scarfing down the shredded chicken. I thought he may have eaten it along w/the chicken because when I tried to grab it, it was already gone. This happened after his pm +4 test. I was happy that he decided to spend the whole night sleeping with me so that I could monitor him (well, except for the fact that half the time he was laying on my chest/tummy, with his butt in my face and he did a really good job of passing gas last night!) When I saw his +7 number, I knew that he had more than likely eaten the strip, however, it did not effect his appetite because he ate his snack w/gusto.
At 5:15 am, Spot, who had been sleeping w/me all night, jumped off the bed. He had been passing gas all night so I figured he was going to the LB (magical poo when I looked, but not covered, so not sure if it was him or Ralph). About three minutes after he got up, I heard someone throwing up in the living room so I got up. Sure enough it was Spot. Throw up consisted of a small fur ball, some brown bile, and the test strip Woohoo...he passed it! I am almost certain that may be why his pm+7 was so high last night & high bg this morning is also a refection of this. Went ahead with the dose increase since numbers were so high (even tho there is a pretty good reason for this), but I don't want him in those higher numbers to long. Going to work today, but will have Mom keep an eye on him to make sure all is good and get several tests.
additional WCR: put his pacing pants on this morning while I was getting ready for work. Came right away for his test, and ate all his breffis, and is now sitting on my bed grooming himself. Doesn't seem like he has a care in the world!
6th day of work (Thursday was a 14.5 hr. day, yesterday a 12 hr. day and today, well, hopefully will only be 7 hr. day). Hope everyone has a wonderful caturday! I hope I have the strength to visit condo's later when I get home!! Be good kitties!!!
