Good questionWhy are you nervous? You have shot similar numbers before.
The numbers bobbing up and down might be the Libre wonkiness. And 195 and 216 is pretty flat if you consider meter variance. Some cats do what is called "Lantus double-dip". They go up after the nadir and then dip again (a shallower dip than the nadir) at the end of the cycle.
The downside with stalling is that numbers can continue to drop without food - making the decision to shoot more difficult.
Yes, exactly. She *is* doing really great on this dose. Are you able to test / intervene with food at +3? Or are you basically out until +5? And do you know if Shelly would eat if you left food out for her?
She's doing awesome on this dose! But I also get your anxiety when the dose seems almost too good![]()
Do you have an animatic feeder you can leave food for her while you are out or at night?Yes, exactly. She *is* doing really great on this dose.
I have looked at others' spreadsheets and, in theory, I understand we need to shoot to stay low, but it's super hard for me to trust I am doing the right thing in any given moment, if that makes sense. So well said about a dose almost seeming too good.
I can give her food right before +3 and she will very likely eat.
We do not have an automatic feeder, but we have seriously considered getting one - for when we are out, but also to help with overnights because her primary food is rehydrated freeze dried. We live in a small space so we would need it to be compact, but also cooling to protect the fresh food. Lots of boxes to checkDo you have an animatic feeder you can leave food for her while you are out or at night?
They are so helpful.
I understand how nerve wracking it is when they are low at preshot and when you have to leave.
It’s very normal, Carina. You’re doing great and so is Shelly!![]()
They come with cooler packs you freeze that go under the food to keep it fresh. We do not have an automatic feeder, but we have seriously considered getting one - for when we are out, but also to help with overnights because her primary food is rehydrated freeze dried.
